Re: Is my tank too crowded?
You're fine. The jumbo needs ten gallons, and then the other eight need five each, so the minimum tank size you need is 50. So you even have room to spare. Thanks for checking though!

Re: Is my tank too crowded?
Hi there.
How many gallons is your tank? The HCA recommends 5 gallons per crab and 10 gallons per jumbo crab.

I'm so sorry for your loss. Learn from your mistake and remember to keep your tank temps high.

Re: Naked crab won't go in shell
I just converted your temps to Fahrenheit and -1 degrees Celcius is 30 degrees Fahrenheit. That's below freezing. I don't know if I misread but I don't know how your tank can be that low. 22 C is about 71-72 F. Still on the low side, but not freezing! She said that her tank was -1 degrees Ce...

Re: how often you rotate in food?
@ciaraalston If your tank allows it (room wise) - keep a separate dish for calcium items. Those things should be kept in the tank at all times anyway. I keep a dish that has a mixture of calcium items in each of my crabitats. In it I keep calcium carbonate, fine oyster shell, crushed eggshell and p...

Cacti & Succulents in my tank?
Hello
I was wondering if I could put things like cacti and succulents in my crabitat? For decoration or maybe if the crabs would eat some of it? I don't know if it would be poisonous but I just wanted to know because I think it would look cool.

Re: how often you rotate in food?
Just try not to feed the same thing twice in a row, and try to always have a protein and fruit available. Why can't we feed them the same thing twice in a row? I've done that for the whole time I've had crabs. I started keeping a log of the food I feed them here https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets...

I'm not sure why she would leave her shell. Keep her in iso until she is back to her normal self again. What was the temperature when you discovered she was streaking (out of her shell)?

Re: Naked crab won't go in shell
I used S for Sophia when replying, read this over thoroughly. 1. What kind of substrate is used in your tank and how deep is it? I use play sand which is 6 inches deep S- Good 2. Do you have gauges in the tank to measure temperature and humidity? If so, where are they located and what temperature an...
