Okay, I mixed it as good as I can and added some water. While I was going through it though I found clumps of dark brown or black stuff. It could have been just clumps of eco earth that never got mixed in, but to be safe I threw those bits out.

It falls apart a little bit, but not completely.

I'm just worried about adding more to it. I was so worried about flooding. I can try though.

I have filters in the tank. The turtle waterfall ones. I sometimes get condensation during the winter, but now I don't even need a humidifier. I looked again and the sand at the bottom was slightly darker, but it wasn't gray like that. I did notice that the glass on the bottom was slightly moist, but it wasn't a pool of water.

Yeah, there hasn't been any weird smells. I don't know about it being gray. It looks like the color it usually is.

I'm worried about adding more water to it now. I'm just so freaked out after losing half of my crabs to whatever the problem is.
