Re: Weird Aggressive Behavior
Yeah, I'm worried it might be that. Both PPs are bigger than him, but Goliath is a lot bigger than him. Normally, he's scared of Goliath, so that makes all of this extra weird. The guarding stuff is still weird though. I know dogs do something like that, but I didn't think crabs did. The other thing...

Re: Weird Aggressive Behavior
Yeah, mine are like that too. Goliath keeps trying shells and changing back.

Re: Weird Aggressive Behavior
Yeah, I guess I just worry that he hates all the shells I got him or something and that's why he won't change. I just wish I knew if getting him a friend will help. I don't want to get him one and then he keeps acting like this and now the tank is more crowded. It's frustrating and I'm not sure what...

Re: Weird Aggressive Behavior
I haven't tried dipping them in water since they've all been together for years until now. I could try when they're all up though. Usually, I just put James in time out (a closed critter keeper in the tank). Also, most of James' harassing happens before anyone molts. Although last year Goliath came ...

Weird Aggressive Behavior
My E has been acting strangely and I figured I'd post here in the hopes that someone could give me a better idea of what's going on in his little bug brain. I've had all 3 of my crabs for 5 years. They're in a 60 gallon tank and both the heat and humidity are kept around 80. There's about 9 inches o...

Re: Power Outage
This reptile place is taking in reptiles, they might also be willing to take in hermit crabs. I don't know if they're near you though. https://kaijutegu.tumblr.com/post/64339 ... l-impacted

Re: Is this a flood??
Okay, I mixed it as good as I can and added some water. While I was going through it though I found clumps of dark brown or black stuff. It could have been just clumps of eco earth that never got mixed in, but to be safe I threw those bits out.

Re: Is this a flood??
It falls apart a little bit, but not completely.
I'm just worried about adding more to it. I was so worried about flooding. I can try though.

Re: Is this a flood??
I have filters in the tank. The turtle waterfall ones. I sometimes get condensation during the winter, but now I don't even need a humidifier. The sand isn't dripping wet, but it holds it's shape well. I tried squeezing it and nothing came out. I don't know if you can tell much from this but https:/...

Re: Is this a flood??
I looked again and the sand at the bottom was slightly darker, but it wasn't gray like that. I did notice that the glass on the bottom was slightly moist, but it wasn't a pool of water.

Re: Is this a flood??
Yeah, there hasn't been any weird smells. I don't know about it being gray. It looks like the color it usually is.

Re: Is this a flood??
I'm worried about adding more water to it now. I'm just so freaked out after losing half of my crabs to whatever the problem is.

There's still no water pooling, so I don't know what to think.

Re: Is this a flood??
I made a hole in the sand. It doesn't look like there's going to be water, but we'll see. Yeah, in the summer I don't need a humidifier, but during the winter I do and it and the temperature go all over the place. So some times I end up turning it up so high that the whole thing's filled with fog, b...
