Re: Bulldozer in rough shape

Thank you everybody! He was ok with Lucia after, he even let her climb on him. A gentle giant. He hasn’t changed shells yet, but I’m hoping he will soon. Poor guy. Just realized he’s missing an entire leg on the other side. He really likes to just sit the saltwater dish. I would isolate him but the ...

Bulldozer in rough shape

I found a very, very large crab at a PetSmart today and I could tell at a glance he needed a bigger shell. I don’t buy pets from pet stores (I know it just fuels the cruel) but this guy... I couldn’t leave him. Now I’m not sure what happened to this poor creature, but he’s missing a segment-and-a-ha...

Re: Exo Terra fogger ok for my hermies?

Those foggers are a great cheap option, but they are prone to wear and tear.... and everyone I know that has one, says they don't last long. (Using distilled or RO water is meant to prolong the lifespan of this unit, so I would suggest using a small dish for it filled with RO. I would also suggest ...

Re: Exo Terra fogger ok for my hermies?

Is this it? It’s housed in nickel-coated brass. http://www.exo-terra.com/download/product_manuals/Fogger_Instruction_Manual.pdf Yep that’s it. Could I use it and just give the hermies access to the fog? And only for a short amount of time every once in a while? Truthfully, you probably could if you...

Re: Exo Terra fogger ok for my hermies?

Never heard of flooding. Interesting. Here in Canada it’s super dry, and I’ve been having humidity issues with my temporary 15 gal. I’d really like some way to keep the humidity upon my tank (90 gal) and I’m gone most of the day. I’m also planning a trip over Christmas break where I’ll be gone for a...

Exo Terra fogger ok for my hermies?

So I’ve got a big hermie build in progress. I’ve got the Exo Terra unltrasonic fogger which I’m planning on using. I was looking at it and realized it was metal. I tried to figure out what metal it was. I don’t think stainless steel as it’s easy to scratch, and looked up what it was made of. Can’t f...

Re: Isopods or salt?

I didn’t think the isopods could live with the salt. I leg the substrate dry up a bit before putting it in the tank, so it’s not water logged. I’m aiming for 10” if sub because the tank is 18” tall, and with the drainage layer and everything it wouldn’t leave much space for climbing and the waterfal...

Isopods or salt?

Hey all, I’m planning a big crabitat build, 90 gallons, 10” of substrate, drainage, waterfall, reptile fogger, back wall is all climbing structures, lots of hides, all that good stuff. In my crab’s current 15 gallon (I’ve got three young crabs) I soak the substrate in saltwater to prevent mould and ...
