Pumpkin Plant? Dangerous?

Hello, I have a weird request for advice. I tossed a small pumpkin into my crab tank around halloween. The crabs didn't take much interest in it as far as I'm aware, and it got a bit buried and forgotten. Up until I discovered a pile of pumpkin seeds with a sprout coming out the top. The sprout (or ...

How long was the molt?
No clue! But regardless of molting time it should be perfectly fine if your crab is underground for extended periods of time.

Re: Any way to tell a crab is dead besides smell?

Still no crab smell but the food I left in her tank certainly went bad ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ Worked up the nerve to very gently tug on her legs some. Her walking legs felt kind of loose but her body seemed firmly lodged in her shell. I would like to tentatively say she may be alive. No clue if she will make it ...

Re: How long is too long for my hermit crab to be molting?

I wouldn't worry. Upgraded the tank and had a single crab that hadn't come up. Waited months for her to come to the surface, nothing. Eventually convinced myself she was dead, did the big no-no of digging for crabs, found her just chilling at the bottom of the tank in a nice cozy hidey hole, no sign...

Re: Any way to tell a crab is dead besides smell?

She's in a loosely curled position. I wouldn't say her eyestalks are folded in, and her longer antennae are sticking out. It's been several days with no smell so maybe I'll be lucky and she is just going through a really wild surface molt (which still ain't great, since that's already very precariou...

Pest Control

Pest control dropped in without warning and sprayed deltamethrin. Called the company and they werent very helpful about where exactly they sprayed, but I have concerns about the well-being of my crabs (and more so my house geckos that I Just obtained to help deal with the infestation). Apparently th...

Re: German cockroach infestation

I would prefer not to do that, most of my crabs don't really come out during the day. But I will see what I can do.

Re: German cockroach infestation

Now, you say it works as long as there aren't other food sources, but: they have access to the crabs' food. Would I need to fast the crabs for a couple days, or is there a way to keep the roaches away from their food? Is there a crab-safe food the roaches may not be interested in?

German cockroach infestation

I have an issue of a great deal of german cockroaches infesting my poor crab tank. What is the best way to get rid of them without harming the crabs? I don't believe I can do a deep clean, as I have several crabs down molting. Is there any crab-safe pesticide?

Size Differences Between Crabs?

I currently have a tank with 8 medium crabs. They are all fairly similar in size. I am considering getting a teeny crab, but would this is be a good idea? Would the tiny crab be liable to be bullied by the large ones?

Burrowing In Day?

Hello, I've had 4 crabs for several months now. Everyone always burrows down during the daytime. Their tank is always between 75 and 80 degrees, and the humidity is currently bouncing anywhere from 75% to 99% depending on if I leave a hatch open (Recently upgraded, still experimenting on getting the...
