Re: can i use Aqueon water conditioner for my crabs water?
Animals that are used to drinking surface water have adapted to get needed minerals that way. Distilled has no minerals. There have been cases of reptiles ending up with severe health effects from being given nothing but distilled, so the same would likely be true for our crabs. However, if using a...

Re: can i use Aqueon water conditioner for my crabs water?
I’m confused - for drinking water for crabs - is it a or b or either - ) rap water treated with Prime b) distilled water - I just lost a fella today and in the emergency response items suggested that distilled water wasn’t good enough for drinking water

Re: Fleming is worse - death is near - its so serious-
On one of your posts, you said you had this crab for only 2-3 weeks. Is that correct, or was it a typo and you have had this crab for 2 years? I originally thought it was one of my newbies but when I saw Fleming's empty shell in the pile of empties I realized which crab it was. Maybe I grew my crab...

Re: Fleming is worse - death is near - its so serious-
It’s just so Frustrating that opinions are everywhere on the Internet. I didn’t go into this intending to be a crab or because I found my little baby crab by accident. This is my first death and I’m taking it very hard. My wishes to learn and understand how it all went wrong so quickly Sent from my ...

Re: Fleming is worse - death is near - its so serious-
I’m so confused - I’ve had Fleming for 2 years - I’ve always heard 3 per 10 gal was a good number - the heating pads are super thin and are set on low beneath 7-8” of substrate - they are the thin ones like you get for reptiles, they are under the glass and they are set on low and they have been for...

He moved just after we moved him but he hasn’t moved again in the last 20 minutes.

Fleming is worse - death is near - its so serious-
as my previous post about my crab Fleming being out of the shell is worse - see below 1. What kind of substrate is used in your tank and how deep is it? Sand and coconut 6” – 8” 2. Do you have gauges in the tank to measure temperature and humidity? If so, where are they located and what temperature ...

Re: crab out of shell in hole -posting from emergency to Mol
Just see this - he was do deep when he was down I never saw his exo by the time he was up enough for me to spot him under his shell - I still don’t know if he molted or was just dug down and needed to change shells and failed to realize the shells were all the across the tank - he was in the same sh...

Re: crab out of shell in hole
It’s so strange to see a crab without a shell jumping around and so scared of their other crabs - completely understandable - just do educational - just watching Fleming walk I could sense something was off. I call it a growing, learning moment. I’ll have to check the other post - I don’t recall see...

Re: crab out of shell in hole
Couldn't find the emergency template -- I didn't really hear back except from anyone except one person who said do not cover him --- I left it alone and then watched on my camera that night and it turned out to be my 3rd crab Fleming (had 2 years and had never changed shells) I saw him out in and en...

crab out of shell in hole -posting from emergency to Molting
I have a new crab (2-3 weeks) and she went down after a couple of day in her new home. I figured she was molting - (she went down next to the water dish) today there is an open hole over her and I can see an empty shell and she is under it. I had a light on but turned it off to make it calmer. I don...
