Climbed out of cage
So last night I heard some weird noises and shells scraping against the glass but when it started to sound like foil being touched I went to check it out. I kid you not, my biggest crab climbed up and out of my cage and was walking on the hecking roof. My cage is not small from the floor it comes to...

Re: Can I find wild hermit crabs here?
I went to the Caribbean and I was really hoping to see some wild hermit crabs because I feel like that would be super cool to see them all. But sadly there were non at the beaches I went to :( (it's probably because they were people beaches rather than untouched beaches) Sent from my SM-N950U using ...

Re: Keeping substrate moist
My gauge may not be calibrated but I can still tell that the humidity is slow just by feeling inside the tank. It doesnt change much from the feel of the room I have them in.

New to molting
I've never had a molter before my one of my crabs is getting super pale and i read somewhere that that's a sign that hes gonna molt soon. Should I isolate him or leave him be?
Re: Lost legs
I have 7 inches of substrate. Its eco earth and pool filter sand mixed together and it holds it shape
Since I added my new pool my humidity is in the 80s and temp is around 75

Re: Lost legs
I may have thrown out the exo when I took out the old pool but he is very active now.. Do I still need to isolate him? What foods would you recommend that are high calcium. Right now I have egg shells meal worm and some fruit/nut mixture
Lost legs
So I'm adding a bigger pool to my crabitate and I had to move my big guy to take the pool out and hes been sitting in the same place for a day but I thought he was just distressing but when I moved him I found lost legs Is this his molted legs? Re: Humidity
I have a sand and eco earth mixture for substrate and my hydrometer is calibrated. It's the same one I had in my last tank and I had good humidity there but when I stuck my hand in the tank I could feel that it got a bit warmer and more humid. Now I dont feel any change with the temperature in my ro...

I have a coco fiber wall that is suppose to hold humidity. And I also have a bubbler in both water dishes. I'm not sure what else to do to keep it up. When ...

So I want a pool for my crabs to swim in and my tank is big enough that my old 20 gallon fits in it and takes up maybe a third of the room. I'm thinking about turning that into my pool but in order to do that I need a lot of water and I dont know if it should be salt water or fresh water. And I'm al...

Re: Stolen shell?
He went into one of the shell I put near him and my other crab changed shells as well. For the water and shells I am in the process of getting some but shipping takes forever this time of year. The calcium sand I have is only on my very bottom layer that's like a quarter inch think. The substrate se...
