Re: Moving 80 gallon tank- waiting for 1 molter
Yes correct, their crabitat isn’t big enough to accommodate my crabs, so I’m giving them my entire setup. I’m relieved that they are familiar with hermit crab needs and willing to take on crabs. So I think you’re right, that I need to get the other crabs back into their large tank asap. Today I care...

Moving 80 gallon tank- waiting for 1 molter
Hi, After 4 years, I need to rehome my crabs. I’ve found a local crabber who is experienced and can keep them permanently, so it’s the best situation I could hope for. 8 of my 9 crabs were all up recently, so I seized the opportunity to put them in a 10 gallon temporary tank and wait for the last mo...

Re: Uh oh- eggs!
Thanks so much for the information! I’m not getting my hopes up, but I’ll give it a go. I haven’t seen her for the last two days, so not sure what she’s up to.
I’ll keep you posted!

Uh oh- eggs!
https://imageshack.com/i/pon3DTj0j Hi, I’ve just discovered one of my gal’s got grey eggs in her shell. She’s airing them out. Seems like a giant undertaking to try to hatch these. What should I do for her? Thanks for any advice. After reading through the threads on this topic, I’ve set up a second...

Re: 75 gallon Upgrade! How do I start?
No problem! I’m loving the deep dive into crabitats! I’ve got my 75 gallon all assembled and I have 4 crabs absolutely loving it. They’re more active than they’ve ever been. Now I’m running two tanks while I wait for the others to come up so they can join all the fun. But so far, they’re staying put!

Re: 75 gallon Upgrade! How do I start?
Oh that’s interesting. Do you mean instead of having one piece of egg crate spanning the entire length of the tank, you have two separate sections on the back and then attach them together?

75 gallon Upgrade! How do I start?
Hi guys, I’m so excited! Just got a 75 gallon tank to upgrade from 40 gallon. I’ve wiped it down with vinegar. Where do I begin? Any input is appreciated. I followed many builds here when I did the 40 gallon, but the 75 gallon is intimidating. I want to have the shell shop across the second story of...

Re: Hermit Crab Vivarium w/ live plants, 101 gallons
This is outstanding! I love it!
I’m picking up a 75 gallon tank today (upgrading from 40 gallon breeder)! And your tank is my new inspiration.
Do you have any tutorials of the total build? Or pictures of the full tank with the lighting and the humidifier on top?

Re: 120 gallon Too much?
Oh that’s so interesting! I never would have guess a larger tank would actually be easier to manage. Well, I’m going to let this particular tank go. It’s too far away and would have to be picked up on my husbands birthday. Lol. But I will keep my eyes open for another, closer to my area. Thank so mu...

120 gallon Too much?
I’m considering upgrading from a 40 gallon to a 120 gallon tank. Is that too much to take on? I have 7 crabs medium-large with one extra large.
I have the space and found an affordable used tank.
My biggest concern is the heating.
I’d love your input.

Re: Shell overcrowding?
Yes, thank you! I’ve shopped using the shell guide! What a great resource. I just don’t understand how all these shells fit in the tank. I have a 40 gallon and it doesn’t seem like there’s enough space for 35 shells to be scattered about and leave room for water, food, wheel, hides. I’ll look at mor...

Shell overcrowding?
Hi, I’ve had a severe case of shell aggression where a crab was killed. After that horrible event, I have greatly increased the number of shells in the tank. I had 8 crabs, now 7, and had 28 shells, now 35, replaced some less preferred varieties. Is I used to keep them all in the second floor of the...

Re: Crabs streaking in substrate
Oh interesting! My large guy came to me in a magpie, so that was the kind I got for replacements originally. I’ll be sure to get turbos for him.
