Sand or EE substrate?

I am going to move my hermies into a new tank, one that is slightly larger than what they are in now. I want to change their substrate from just sand to either sand and eco earth or just eco earth. I was wondering who uses what and how your hermies like what they are on! Also, if you have sand and e...

Re: Dropped Big Pincher

On the topic of the missing pincer, one of my hermies (Sheldon) lost/dropped his after an encounter with a new crab in the enclosure when I first introduced them. Sheldon dropped a leg as well, which im guessing was result of the shell fight with the new crab. I kept him isolated for a while to keep...

He was instantly put into a tank alone as i was unsure of leaving him with the other crabs (the aggressor, named Hannibal, didn't show any sign...

Re: Crabs buried since February?

Sounds totally normal to me. Please do not dig them up. Crabs can be down molting for up to 6 months for larger crabs. Two months is nothing to worry about at all, even for small crabs. Like you are doing, keep changing the food and water. Be sure your temp and humidity are correct, using gauges no...

Crabs buried since February?

My group of crabs started molting in February. I didn’t think much of it since three of them went under all around the same time. One came up at about the three week mark. I didn’t find this odd at first, because he is smaller than the other two, but those other two still haven’t come up and it’s be...
