Ideas for 55G tank
Hello, I am upgrading to a 55G tank and I’m super excited, I had a 10G for a while and I’m ready for my crabbies and the new ones coming to enjoy more space. Can I see some pictures or ideas of what you have done with a 55G tank? I want them to be able to explore, climb and have things without takin...

What size are your crabs and when did they last molt? Usually smaller hermit crabs molt more frequently, but usually only stay under for a few weeks, but larger crabs don't molt as often, however when they do molt they can molt longer, sometimes they even take a few months! Re: Molting or eaten?
How long exactly have they been down? It's not entirely uncommon for crabs to spend months down (and only resurface at night, then go back down again) to chill, moult and then chill some more before coming back up. New crabs in particular are known to 'destress' by staying for a good month undergro...

Molting or eaten?
After losing 2 crabbies due to a bacterial bloom, I got 2 others because I didnt want my Scooby to be lonely. The other 2 were visible and they ate a lot which I knew a molt was coming. After those 2 went into molting, my Scooby also disappeared for a bit. Scooby has been out and about for a few mon...

Re: Tips so it doesn’t happen again
I'm sorry you lost a couple of your crabbies. [emoji3525] What do you use for water dishes? I like using the double container method. I use one plastic container to hold the shape of the dish, and a second one inside the first that holds the water. If the container with the water leaks, you have th...

One came back up and I was waiting for the other 2 to do so. Well they never did. Today the tank was way too wet and smelled horrible. Well my ot...

Re: What to do?
Your substrate is oversaturated. You can try to dry it out and reuse but anything that is gray or black or smells like sulfur has to go. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk It doesnt smell like sulfur, and have not seen anything black or grey. What would be the best way to dry it? First time havent ...

Re: Crabbies not eating
The humidity is pretty good, around 80 to 85 degrees F. You can feel it when opening the lid to feed them. I do have the Ultratherm wrap in foil and then cardboard box, I followed one of the post in here. The Ultratherm is even bigger than my tank on the side and it fits perfect from above the subst...

Re: Crabbies not eating
It is probably around 75, I have an Ultratherm on the back and another on the side and it havent been able to hit 80, unless I turn the AC on the house off.
I checked on them again and the little one is out and about, the other 2 are still hanging in the moss

Crabbies not eating
So for a few days my little ones have been very quiet to the point I thought they were molting, no eating, water has been clean and no sight of any of them. So I checked their hideout, none of them there, than the moss and all of them were there alive. Not sure why they havent been eating or being a...

I'm wondering if this was a first and only time or if they would follow suit each time.curlysister wrote: ↑Mon Jul 29, 2019 10:49 pmNice! Both Sonny and Cher are under right now, which honestly has happened only a few times over the years!
