Re: Had to dug up suspected molter due to bacterial bloom, very weak crab.
I did some quick thinking after typing this but tukiyo had already somehow lost her big claw which I either assumed she was being rough on herself from walking around or odin trying to take it off due to the molting scents. He didn't do anything to her exo but her big claw was damaged. I have no cho...

Re: Had to dug up suspected molter due to bacterial bloom, very weak crab.
Oh no. Terrible news- I just woke up and I quickly checked on the skull that I thought was seal proof; Tukiyo's out of her shell ( I assume since before Odin got in ) and she's just... twitching. She's not dead, but she's alive. I don't know what to do; any suggestions, anyone?

Re: Had to dug up suspected molter due to bacterial bloom, very weak crab.
Update! She molted not too long ago, from what I can see most of her exoskeleton is off and I see very freshly molted legs! Looks like jelly, haha.
Everything should hopefully be okay! Just got to wait for her to eat her exo

Re: Had to dug up suspected molter due to bacterial bloom, very weak crab.
Thanks Wodesorel, yeah, I've got her covered up now in the hide so Odin can't potenially bother her- It's fine anyway since the big guy tends to stay tucked away in the corner of the tank and lay up against the heat pads. I can't help still feel bad for the unessecary pre-stress though. I dipped her...

The great oak bark banquet
So, the other day yesterday morning I took some oak bark from outside, cleaned the pieces, ( quite a few oak trees where I live at ) and threw them in the tank, and my largest crab, Odin, went absolutely ham on and has been constantly sitting and on it and devouring it all day yesterday, and all day...

Rando upper-leg exoskeleton part found? Also crab hair
I was doing my regular tank clean and water changes when I notitced there was an upper leg ( but hollow ) part of an exoskeleton within the salt water dish ( I've got 2 PPs atm )- Naturally I got concerned and rushed to inspect my crabs to see if they were missing any limbs, however fourtanely they ...

Re: Lonely Crab question
I only did it to create an airway because she dug in extremely bad area where there was things like the food bool, etc, and mainly because of the large crab odin that tended to walk all around the area and compacted the holes

Re: Lonely Crab question
She was digging in really inconvenient locations and I had to make sure there was a tunnel of air going down. ( not digging her up, usually sticking sticking my finger done until I touch the tip of her shell ) What was mainly bad about the areas is where Odin actively walks around at and constantly ...

Out of pure curiosity, where would you guys would say to be the best place to look for Indonesian hermit crabs? I know they're among the more elusive bunch of crabs to find, but I'd still like some opinions
