Quarantine adventures
Funny how covid quarantine gives those crabbies a bit more attention. Not sure what number redesign this is during 2020... We’ve had suction cup failures, and have finally made the crabs [emoji886] their very own dock. Going on about 1.5 years with 3 crabs. And my kindergartener has all the [emoji7]...

New pools
My 5 year old and I are going for a pretty big reno of the crabby tank as some quarantine fun. As we stumbled through attempts to use aquarium silicone to rock some Tupperware, my techy hubby chimes in. He designed and 3D printed some pools for us instead. I’m super excited, pretty sure it looks cli...

Driftwood
We collected this beautiful driftwood with hopes to add it to the tank. Best methods to sterilize? Fresh picked off Puget Sound (saltwater) and hoping not to introduce problems or mold https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20200420/78ab50b3f2bd7762d95eef64d1031a1d.jpg Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Re: Change In color with molting?
It is not unusual for a crab to molt a couple of times in short order. Or to just come up and go back down for unknown reasons. Do you have a big enough tank and deep enough substrate? 30 gallon and 6 inches. We’ve been trying to patiently wait to see all up from molting to add some extra substrate...

Change In color with molting?
Fairly new to the crabbies. We’ve had 4 since August of last year. We believe most went through a molt shortly after we got them, and during December had only really seen 2. Too early for another molt? We had seen evidence of a potential fight— one detached leg on the sand one morning [emoji51]. Tod...

Woohoo [emoji322]
I’ve been a very anxious first timer. Our original little crab that started a slight obsession, 2 tank upgrades and 3 additional crabs [emoji886] since the first of July, Sandy had been down since July 26. His crabbie buddies all started to join him under the sand. We’ve been caring for a tank full ...

Re: Moss pitt
We have one crab that I’m seriously worried that she never leaves the moss pit. Haven’t seen the other three touch it [emoji2372]

Re: Hmmm?
What did you do to prep it for the tank? We live on Puget Sound and I’ve been wanting to collect from the beach but unsure of safety

Where did you source your driftwood from?

Re: New crabitat condensation and heating
Super curious on your replies [emoji1695]. We are about 2 weeks in with the same condensation problem. I asked got advice to watch for flooding and that some open the lid sometimes. Neither seem like a great solution, just bandaids.

Re: New Crabbers [emoji886]
Thank you! I’ve had rotating proteins in—egg, steak, quinoa, and almonds. Also crushed up egg shell and fresh caught Dungeness crab shell for calcium.
The condensation is constant, I’ve seen the advice to be wary of flooding, but not much on any solutions. Anything to do to thwart it?

New Crabbers [emoji886]
Hi All. Like I’ve read about quite a few, we had no idea what we were getting into. My 4 year old spent the day at the beach with Grandma and Grandpa doing all things crab [emoji886]. He came home, much like other visits to their beach house pronouncing his love of crabs and asked if we could keep o...

Driftwood from the beach [emoji905]?
New to crabbing [emoji886]we have a house on Puget Sound. There’s some beautiful driftwood on the beach, if baked (or another better sanitizing method) could we use driftwood from the beach?
