Re: Crab is digging up molters
Why is one of my crabs suddenly digging up molters, forcing them to move and re bury? Will this harm and possible kill the molters? Does the crab digging them up need to be removed from the tank temporarily? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk You might want to fill out the emergency questions. I th...

Re: Question re:over crowding
So basically you guys are very sweetly telling me that I am overcrowded but you understand about not having the resources to upgrade right now.
I appreciate that you aren’t shaming me!
I am doing my best for these guys

Re: Tank cleaning Tip
Gotbutterflies has way more experience and knows more than I do. I’d go with their advice over mine
And i realized later that I forgot to mention that my suggestions were only in case the tank was empty.
Of course no strong chemicals with crabs in the tank

[emoji3590][emoji3590][emoji3590][emoji3590][emoji3590] This is how I do things too! I always tell myself I’m going to take it slow, and before I know it I’m neck deep and loving it! 90 gallon is my dream set up right now. I’m working on learning how to filter and manage the water pools so I feel co...

Re: Adding a new crab...
Oops my guys are in 5cm shells at mo (give or take).. Would try to add similar size I guess... Hi From what I’ve read around in posts by more experienced crabbers, size differences matter less in crab world and may make things less tense because they don’t compete for the same size shells. YMMV I h...

Re: Coconut shell in oven to dry
Hi all. I've just washed a new coconut shell hide for my guys.... Thinking of drying it in the oven... Any thoughts as to temp and time for this? Thanks Wendy I am very late to this reply! It’s probably air dry by now [emoji1] But I usually just use the lowest setting on my oven and leave stuff for...

Re: Saltwater Pool Upgrade! Crabmas in July
I believe the crabs are really liking the saltwater pool. I have seen several hovering around the top at different times. Ateast one crab is really liking it! For the last three days the same crab has been at the bottom of the pool when I wake up in the morning. Trying to see how long he stays in t...

Re: Molting crab in 3" EE with possible mites?
It might be better for a more expert person to weigh in. I’m a pretty new crabber but I wanted you to have a response. If it is only going to be a day or so, I would wait and move as few times as possible. As long as he has food and both waters in the temporary tat where he molted, I think fewer mov...

Re: Too large iPower Heater?
I have multiple heaters, two on the back and one on each side. I didn't really plan it that way, I just ended up with that many when I upgraded tanks. I live on the Prairies in Canada, where it can be -40C in winter and +40C in summer, in an old farm house with no air conditioning, and baseboard he...

Re: Too large iPower Heater?
Room temp is 72 currently. I put the thermometer against the heater and it said 95. I had read that they are okay at that temp for a bit. Plus the above sand folks can move forward and dig in the sand and such. When my daughter wakes up, I’m going to move the heater a bit higher and make sure it’s n...
