Marine Salt Question
I've been having an issue with my marine salt becoming hard as a rock. Is there anyway to prevent this from happening? Would storing the salt in Tupperware help? Thanks!

Type of Tank
I'm looking to update my 10gal tank to a larger size and I was looking for opinions on the type of tank I should purchase. The terrarium type tanks look really nice with the doors that open in the front but I'm not sure if that is good for humidity or if they are made deep enough for sand. Any info ...

Re: Substrate issue
Currently my humidity varies from 75-81 approx and my substrate is 5 parts sand to 1 part eco earth. I haven't dug too deep but the top 2-3 inches is dry, I'm assuming because of the added heat to the tank. I'll try to seal it better and carefully add some moisture, I was just concerned with the pot...

Instant Ocean
Sorry if this is a silly question, but for those who use instant ocean, is the salt supposed to completely dissolve? I use a 1qt bottle and estimated that it would need approx 4 tablespoons of salt, but it doesn't seem to be completely dissolving so I hope I'm not putting in too much! Thanks

Substrate issue
I have an issue keeping my substrate at sandcastle consistency. I had just put up a second heater since that tank was starting to fall into the mid 70s, but now the substrate is drying out even though the heaters are above the substrate line. I've heard it's not good to spray or wet the sand since i...

Feeding grains and oils
I have read that grains and oils are a good part of a hermit crab's nutrition, but I was wondering how best to prepare them. Would it be ok to put olive oil, coconut oil, etc, as is in the food dish or should they be mixed with another food item to make the oil safer to eat? Also, should grains such...

Re: New crabitat condensation and heating
Thanks for all of your replies! I'm still having the condensation problem so I'll have to wait it out a bit or find a way to insulate it. I'm going to carefully try to move the heaters but if that doesn't work I've read there are better heaters anyways than the zoomeds. I believe or at least hope my...

New crabitat condensation and heating
Hi everyone! I have a new crabitat and have some random questions that I couldn't find the answers to on the care sheets. First, I had read that a tank can get flooded and that concerns me, since my tank does have constant condensation. Are there any tips as to how to prevent this condensation and f...
