Many people siggest usong Tupperware dishes from the dollar store
Would glass be better?? I feel like it something would happen to plastic overtime if it is in contact with saltwater for a while.

Water bowls

Hello. I'm trying to find water bowls for my crabs but I don't want to spend $7 on one bowl. What cheaper option could I use? Like glass, ceramic, or any other type of bowl?

Re: Heat and humidity

Try covering the tank with plastic wrap so it traps all the moisture that would evaporate out.

Did you boil in saltwater or fresh water? It might just be spots from being boiled, I’m not 100% sure though. I know I’ve boiled some of mine in saltwater and it made them dull and hazy. I use freshwater to boil and then dip in saltwater now. I boiled them in freshwater. I cant scrub them off or an...

Re: Weird goo in food bowl

I've read everywhere that mold isn't toxic to crabs. So I don't think you should be worried.

Re: Weird goo in food bowl

It's probably mold with the fruit. It happens to the strawberries that I put after a day or so.

Where to get crab shells

I've had my crabs for about 3 months now and they've all changed shells since I got them. I'm now in need of some bigger shells with 1 1/4in openings and bigger in the future. I'm trying to save some money but I'm also just looking for websites or places where I can get shells with round openings. W...

Re: Learning as I go new owner

I suggest moving the water dishes closer to the heat pads so they can evaporate and raise the humidity.

Re: Learning as I go new owner

Mesh is okay. You can put cling wrap over it if you have problems keeping the humidity up. Be careful using sticks though because some are toxic. Otherwise boil them before outting them in the tank. Good luck!
