Re: So many isopods!
Well I was right... 3 out of 4 are dead. The first two I'm pretty sure from the isopod INFESTATION. The last one from stress of maybe the springtails or the springtails? Because I got out all of the isopods. This last one hurt, she was my favorite.. and the only one who had been comfortable and spen...

Re: So many isopods!
Oh gosh, yeah I only have a 30. I took like a really huge tub. And the smaller tub that I started breeding them with which I hadn’t been using anymore. Set up the smaller tub for them to be back in. I took each thing that they hid in and shook it out one at a time into the big tub , used a small pai...

So many isopods!
I finally decided to clear out the rolly pollies out of my tank. They have just bred like crazy and I haven’t seen some of my crabs in months and I’m worried they buried down and ate them while they were molting. Maybe they were just so annoyed those things have been everywhere they are hiding. Hopi...

Re: Upgrading tank & Constant Molting
Thank you! I had previously got some ideas off Pinterest for what I’ve already done but haven’t found any new ideas I liked. I might try the egg crate thing though. That’s a new idea for me. I’ll have to try the Velcro command strips the ones I previously used for my shelf lasted awhile but they wer...

Re: Upgrading tank & Constant Molting
I should’ve thought of the mess because I’ve use it for other stuff haha thanks! I really don’t have the room To have two set up especially if I’m switching to like a 50 but may have to figure it out when I absolutely need to. For now I think I’ll do the craft mesh and maybe rearrange stuff. Thanks!...

Upgrading tank & Constant Molting
So I have been wanting to upgrade tank for awhile. I have 29 now but once I bred and added isopods I feel like it’s just not big enough. I’ve tried several things for a second floor and haven’t got anything to stay plus I had to add bubblers to help with humidity which has taken up a lot of space. B...

Re: Humidity Issues
I also live in Indiana, tank is insulated on 3 sides, have glass on the mesh of the tank lid with duct tape holding it in place. So far humidity hasn't changed much with the weather changes, no more than 2-5 points. Sent from my SM-J337A using Tapatalk I'm glad you said this because I was able to t...

Re: Humidity Issues
Is your sand dry? If so, it tends to absorb what humidity there is. Sent from my Pixel 3a using Tapatalk The top doesn't feel it, but I have like 8 inches. How do you know if the bottom is? I have isopods (and lots of tiny babies) and a molter right now so misting is about as much as I can do. But ...

Re: Humidity Issues
It can still be the gauge!! Temperature and humidity are two different sensors, one can go while the other is okay. Calibrating it (there's a guide in the caresheets) is a very good idea to make sure it really is a humidity problem and not a gauge problem. I didn't know that!! I'll calibrate it. I ...

Humidity Issues
I have had my crabs for about 4-6 months now and have had perfect humidity and temperature levels since my first week. But with this winter it all of a sudden dropped to in the 50s. My temperature is fine, my husband said they'll be fine for a couple weeks because our house is so dry. But I feel so ...

Other bugs in isopod tank?
I didn’t know whether to post this in this topic or other big topic? But I’ve had my roly polys for about 5 weeks. I got about 30 from my friend’s garden because she doesn’t use any weed killer or anything then I bought another 30 online. I have them in their own tub while they’re mating so I can wa...

Re: About One Month into being New Crab Owner
Turns out it wasn't Bullseye it was Buzz the first one that went down, who had been down a little less than 3 1/2 weeks. He had just already changed into a shell that looked like Bullseyes. I thought that shell seemed kind of big for him but he must have agreed because he switched to a smaller one o...
