Re: My crab is pooping in his water dish!
Is pooping in the food dish normal? I just put fresh carrots last night and this morning I saw a ton of brown strands mixed in! I threw out everything and put fresh carrots again.

Re: Crab is digging up molters
We have asked you to please fill out the emergency template so that we can help you. Do you provide enough calcium and protein for your hermies? I did not fill out because it is not an emergency. The crab is now under. As I said before in an update it must have been accidentally digging up other cr...

Re: Crab is digging up molters
The crab digging up the other crabs is now buried. I guess he was looking for a place of his own to molt and accidentally came across the others

Re: Crab is digging up molters
Filling in the emergency template will give us a bunch more info to help. How big is your tank? How many crabs? How deep and what kinds of sub? What types of water? What is temp and humidity? 10 gallon tank with eco earth and sand mix between 5 and 5 inches deep. Salt and fresh water. Only 3 crabs ...

Re: Crab is digging up molters
He has been with these crabs from day one. They were all purchased at the same time. He gets a variety of fresh foods (no pellets) and he has never acted territorial. I considered isolating him from the rest like you all said so I will most likely do that

Crab is digging up molters
Why is one of my crabs suddenly digging up molters, forcing them to move and re bury? Will this harm and possible kill the molters? Does the crab digging them up need to be removed from the tank temporarily?

Re: Heating
Good to know. They get sun in the room and those additional lights get too hot in my opinion. I have two UTH right now but only one attached to back right now

Heating
I keep doing research but I still do not have a clear understanding of what is best. I have a ceramic heat bulb with a dome but it was drying out the tank and I felt it may be getting too hot for them. I now have a UTH on the side of the 10 gallon but it doesn’t get much heat. I am not a fan of the ...

Play sand
I currently have all play sand and a corner with jungle bedding laying on top in my 10 gallon tank. Is it ok to use only sand or do I need to have that soil stuff in there as well? One of the crabs has already buried itself deep into the sand

Best Crab Tank
I purchased a new larger tank and it has a mesh lid but I think I want to return it and get one with either a glass lid or a hood because I do not want to rig the mesh tank with foil or plastic wrap. I rather have something nice looking. Question is, which between glass lid and hood will give best h...
