Re: Naked crab HANGING upside down?!
He was definitely passed this morning. Exact same position as last night and now smelly. His abdomen was so dried out looking when I found him hanging I didn’t think there was any chance. Poor guy. :(. I also feel bad for his buddy, since the only other one in the tank (Boots! The escapee who hangs ...

Re: Naked crab HANGING upside down?!
If you can put some separately in a dish this may make it more accessible for them. With all the digging crabs do, a lot of the supplement may end up mixed in the sand and not eaten. Sent from my Moto G (5) Plus using Tapatalk Yeah, it gets plowed in constantly (along with the moss. All my moss is ...

Re: Naked crab HANGING upside down?!
For calcium I have a supplement that gets sprinkled on top of the sand. It’s also from the hermit crab patch.CrabbyLover77 wrote:I'll put my suggestions under your answers. Hope it helps!

Re: Naked crab HANGING upside down?!
1. What kind of substrate is used in your tank and how deep is it? Play sand and coconut fiber. 8 inches. 2. Do you have gauges in the tank to measure temperature and humidity? If so, where are they located and what temperature and humidity do they usually read? 4 inches from top on the inside back....

Re: Naked crab HANGING upside down?!
I have no idea. He twitched. I just tucked him in his shell and he’s holding. He didn’t pull all the way in, but it seemed like he did a little. Or I’m hallucinating. I’m leaving him in the little nursery tank in the big tank by the heater but am not optimistic. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Re: Naked crab HANGING upside down?!
There’s no smell yet but I think he’s passed. I unclipped his buttlegs (?) from the vine to get him into a nursery container with his shell but there’s zero movement and his eyes and antennae are together. His buttstalk (really good at the technical terms) is really dried out/shriveled too. WTH? Rea...

Not moving much but I don’t thing dead. Help?!? Going to nest picture because it is not an okay look. Sent from ...

Re: How many crabs in a rubber boot? Sz 9
Doesn't he know we're all supposed to be staying at home/quarantined? No leaving home little guy! Sent from my Moto G (5) Plus using Tapatalk I think he was trying to socially distance. Seemed rather cheesed off to be put back in, even when right next to the treat bowl. Sent from my iPhone using Ta...

How many crabs in a rubber boot? Sz 9
Because apparently this one (previously unnamed, JUST re-up from a several months post-store underground trip, probably Boots now) prefers living in a rubber boot to the sandy tank abode. Heard the scratch scratch, no sign of a crab. Coming from way too low... couldn’t be... and then s/he scooted fr...

My pet sand hatched!
FINALLY! I was down to one crab (my biggest) and then she abandoned me last week for the Netherworld of Sand. I have not seen the others since Januaryish? Once in a while I’ll see a peek of red or purple or shell near the glass or hear the scritch of slightly moving sand. Yesterday someone left a ho...

Spoiling my lonely crab
Only one above ground for a month now, so she’s getting the royal treatment while all those other suckers are on their undersand vacays.

Ugh. Good luck.
I feel like I want little to pop up little flags on the surface for where they were last seen.

Re: Do I need to redirect Tiny away from underground Bleep?
I think he means he can actually see both of the crabs right there. It looks like your substrate might not be deep enough for them to be able to burrow and molt properly without another crab being able to find them, it’s hard to tell from a picture though. It’s possible crab 1 is just hanging out a...
