New crab safety precautions
Hey there! I just got 2 new hermit crabs today  Is there any thing i need to do in order to clean them/protect them from anything they might have? I picked both of them up and they seem to be fine from the naked eye. Both crabs are very active (running around, climbing, etc.) Also, side ques...

Re: VERY lethargic crab, no longer moving.
He stoped walking around about 4 days ago and is completely unresponsive as of yesterday... mentally prepared for the worst at this point, just hope he’s not suffering.crabs_lex wrote:hm i’m sorry

Re: VERY lethargic crab, no longer moving.
The only problem is that he won’t eat... ever.crabs_lex wrote:you can try and give him some healing foods like things high in calcium or lots of us use honey
and since he seems like a small crab maybe he’s preparing to molt i’m not sure tho

Re: VERY lethargic crab, no longer moving.
If I were to get a heating pad anyways, can I use something like a shoulder heat pad or will I need a specific kind of pad? Will the heating pad I have work for the moment until I can get a real one?

Re: VERY lethargic crab, no longer moving.
Also, the first thing I thought of was humidity and temp so I just bought another gauge, just in case the one I’m using isn’t working or something.

Re: VERY lethargic crab, no longer moving.
I have a thermometer/hydrometer next to the bottom (near the substrate) and it’s like a box shape. Also, I live in Arizona so the average of 80 is maintained all day never dropping below 80.

Sluggish crab not moving... what should I do?

The humidity is an average or 75-80% and I maintain a heat of 80 Fahrenheit( I live in a very hot place so this is a normal temp ) and it has stayed at this average since I got him. I’ve got 6in deep sub 5-1 sand an...
