Re: Review My Crabitat (Updated)
I'm not 100 percent sure about netting since I've never used it. Tons of people on here have though. One thing I would try to do is try to get 100% natural netting, like all cotton or something so that they dont end up eating anything they shouldn't cause they WILL eat it I just googled it a bit an...

Re: Review My Crabitat (Updated)
This tat is so cute! The only thing I would suggest is, on the right hand side where the cholla wood is you have a big section of empty glass. If you hung some netting from suction cups there, it would look cute and more importantly give your crabs even more space that they can climb on/use. Plus a...

Re: Review My Crabitat (Updated)
I used the "egg crate" stuff from Amazon and then zip tied sheets of Coconut Fiber matting to it for a "back wall" and to support second level. that has turned out to be one of their favorite's for climbing! it's pretty cheap to use. As far as feeding - the crabs will be fine with strawberries that...

Re: Review My Crabitat (Updated)
I've had crabs for eight years and I don't buy organic food for them. I just can't afford it (and I don't eat out either so don't say that's why). I do feed them fresh produce from my garden in summer, but otherwise they get the same grocery store food I've gotten and they've been just fine. I'm su...

Installing Plastic Craft Mesh
What's the best way to attach plastic craft mesh to water dishes? Can I have some pictures?

I wasn't trying to be drastic, but it's always better to be safe than sorry. Re: Changing Water Dishes Containing Pebbles
Okay great, because I don't have time to do all that!GotButterflies wrote: ↑Fri Jul 17, 2020 12:33 pmYw! That is what I do. Some people rinse all of their stuff with dechlorinated water. I personally don't.

Yes, I would be sad if I found my crab drowned. Craft mesh, can you send a link?GotButterflies wrote: ↑Fri Jul 17, 2020 12:31 pmYou would be really sad if you found a drowned crab.
You can use craft mesh, and fish tank decor for them to get in and out of their pools with.

Re: Changing Water Dishes Containing Pebbles
I bought a strainer that I use specifically for my hermit crab pools. It is easier to clean the pools this way. I dump the entire pool into the strainer, rinse the pebbles really good, wipe out the pools, and then put it all back together. :) Thank you for being so helpful to me! Just to verify, is...

Re: Review My Crabitat (Updated)
I think the pebbles/rocks are packed in tightly enough to serve as a secure enough base for maneuver.GotButterflies wrote: ↑Fri Jul 17, 2020 10:52 amDo the pebbles move though? If the pebbles move that might not be enough. It is possible for crabs to drown.

Re: FMR Land Hermit Crab Treat
I dont like FMR becuase of their unethical practices, promoting painted shells, and the way they house the hermit crabs they distribute. I can tell you from experience that my hermit crabs love fresh fruit and vegetables. And in the long run its more affordable than buying commercial food. Just mak...

Great question! I have pebbles at the edge so the crab can get in and out without any issues!GotButterflies wrote: ↑Thu Jul 16, 2020 2:08 pmLooks nice! Do your crabs have a way to get in and out of your pools?
