Re: New to the crab world!
For those that have made jute climbing ropes/bridges, how did you get the smell out of the twine? I covered a shower container that hangs over the edge of tank in jute and the smell is strong and I also noticed that my babies have been staying down alot since that went in. Wasn't sure if the smell c...

Re: Is this a good layout for PVC pieces for a false bottom?
What is the purpose of the false bottom for the crabs? I have seen someone else do this also and I'm just curious

Re: New to the crab world!
I placed him back down in the hole and covered him, should I still isolate him, I don't want to dig him up again and add more stress

Re: New to the crab world!
So I have my first molting crab, I didn't realize he was buried where I was digging, to clean out and rearrange tank and found a body and the shell, I thought it was dead but then saw he was actually in the shell still and moved so I'm hoping that it didn't stress him out too much. I also did upgrad...

Re: New to the crab world!
He is definitely buried in substrate, I upgraded size of their tank today and the only spot I didn't touch in old one was the last place I had seen him which was under a rock house. So the mound that was around him I have not touched and have left the heater on in that tank to keep him warm while th...

Re: New to the crab world!
How long will a crab stay buried? We got 2 new crabs a little over a week ago to join our other 2. One of them has been out and about exploring and changing shells almost daily, the other buried itself almost instantly and hasn't been seen since.

Re: New to the crab world!
Thank you, I switch things around every couple of days, which is fun to watch them explore. But now I'm obsessed with these little guys and need a bigger tank, want something taller, so they can climb more

Re: New to the crab world!
I only mist the moss on the platform, they seem to like it better when it's moist versus drier
