How to set up a Megalopa tank?
I use a translator, so the sentence can be weird. I have some of the megalopas and joea from C.spinosus. having trouble setting up a Megalopa tank. I tried all the tanks with sandless / Argonite sand set. In all settings, the megalofas are not move and most are lying on the floor. I'm hand-feeding e...

Re: What is Megalopa's preferred food?
Thank you very much for everyone's replies. Megalopa is such a daunting task. It's been a long time, and I now have only one baby hermit crab. Only one survived. https://i.postimg.cc/Qd3r5ZCz/Kakao-Talk-20230127-030048674.jpg https://i.postimg.cc/Hk919v7k/Kakao-Talk-20230127-030048674-02.jpg This ba...

Re: What is Megalopa's preferred food?
My megalopas are feeding well now. Some seafood and fish feeds in sinking form have been well received. Perhaps, they needed time to adjust to new food, or moving to a larger tank may have helped. Can Megalopa hunt brine shrimp? I've already put brine shrimp in, but I haven't seen them hunt. I first...

What is Megalopa's preferred food?
I have many zoeas and some megalophas that have now molted. I heard Megalopa can't hunt Artemia. I've given Megalopa a few things, including raw meat and crab food, but it won't eat anything. Most Megalopas are emaciated and dying from not eating anything. I'm growing megalopas in a small square fis...

Re: is it safe to add isopods?
Yes, those should be fine. They will eat decaying organic matter, which will help keep mold in check. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Thanks for the reply. I got 3 types of isopods. porcellio laevis dairy cow Armadillidium gestroi Armadillidium klugii montenegro Once a sufficient number is obtai...

Re: Red tick parasitic to hermit crab
I forgot this thread. Thanks for the reply. The ticks appeared to be resistant to salt water. It does not fall off or die even when exposed to seawater for a long time. In the end, I manually removed the ticks one by one. Remove the tick with a small piece of adhesive tape. Ticks appear to be parasi...

Can I use river sand for Crabitat?
hi. Consider using river sand for crabitat. Unfortunately, in Korea I can't buy commonly used playsand. Instead, I can get washed river sand or sea sand. This sand is sand that has been cleaned of impurities and gravel and washed with water. This sand is used for play, gardening and construction pur...

is it safe to add isopods?
Hi. I'm considering adding isopods to the tank. Armadillidium gestroi Armadillidium klugii montenegro Two things are being considered, but these are large isopods, and I haven't been able to find examples of adding them to the tank. Are these safe for hermit crab in tanks? Also, will they help you c...

Re: Red tick parasitic to hermit crab
Thanks for the answer. Unfortunately, there is no institution in Korea to help with this. It's been 3 months since I raised crabs. This tick seems almost certain to have had it since the crab was caught. The tick appears to lay eggs on the crab's skin. When the crab molts, the eggs seem to hatch. In...

Re: Red tick parasitic to hermit crab
I Use a translation service. There are ticks between the hermit crab's legs. There are also ticks in the abdomen and outer skin. The tick is small and hides deeper when I try to catch it. It spread from one hermit crab to all hermit crabs. It appears to be a tick that is parasitic on the hermit crab...
