Re: Blind Crab?
Aw, he is definitely lucky to have you. One of my crabs, Artemis, only has one eye that she can see out of. She has really good reflexes, but it looks like she might have lost an eye in a fight sometime before we adopted her. She’s molted since we got her and hasn’t really grown anything back yet (h...

Thanks you guys!! He just surfaced and is lookin super buff. I’ll post some better pictures when he stops hiding from me haha. He’s a super deep reddish-purple now, and definitely looks bigger. I think he switched shells too. I’m so relieved that it went well! https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/202101...

Re: Territorial Crabs?
Thanks for the tip, haven’t tried that yet! My new guy is in iso right now so I’ll definitely try that before I reintroduce him.JoeHermits wrote:Have you tried dipping them both in freshwater? Neutralizing their scents often helps.

Re: Inactive crab
Also at the pet store they should sell Prime Water Conditioner as well as pure aquarium salt, which I personally use for their freshwater/saltwater dishes. Table salt is bad for them because of it’s additives, and tap water is bad for them because it contains chlorine and heavy metals.

Re: Inactive crab
Just some advice if you need it: If you live near a Joann’s Fabrics, they have good turbo shells there in their bags of various natural shells! They’re affordable too if you use a coupon, which they almost always have. Also, an easy place to find some healthy protein for them is the turtle/lizard is...

Territorial Crabs?
What do you guys do when a crab gets territorial, despite having plenty of space and food? I got a new crab, and one of my original crabs named Loki (he sure lives up to his name) starts to grab him whenever he would get near Loki’s usual designated areas. He doesn’t try to fight back though, he jus...

First Successful Molter :)
Hi all! I’ve just been a lurker here for a few months, so this is my first real post... I got my first crabs this past December, and my most active/strongest crab Hercules has had a successful molt in the ISO tank!! He’s currently underground still munching on his exo(you can see him through the bot...

Type of Tank
I highly recommend checking out sites/apps like Facebook Marketplace, Nextdoor, or OfferUp for a large tank because the price is pretty high if you were to get a brand new one. My current 40 gal tank is from Facebook marketplace, and it only costed me $40 :) It was a Truvu tank meant for fish, but t...

Re: Marine Salt Question
Pretty sure this happens because there are no decaking agents in the salt(which is a good thing; it means it’s pure). The previous reply has some good solutions!
