Hermit crabs not eating

So I got my crabs a little over a week ago, I change their water bowls everyday and give them fresh food everyday. One is buried under the sand in the corner of the tank, one is dead (his death wasn’t my fault I got him dead from the pet store), one likes to sit in his tree all day and move his posi...

Re: Crabitat

Maybe you can get a shell variety pack of different sizes so the new crabbies will see them immediately upon going into their sweet new tank! I say this because my OC (original crab) changed shells within minutes of being in her new tank...and my sister’s crab did the same thing! Lol. They were in ...

Re: Crabitat

Yes yes, I do plan on getting them actual herm...

Crabitat

I’ve been taking everyone’s ideas and helpful advice and I think I finally finished my crabitat layout! Yes I know it’s missing the substrate and sand, I have ecoearth coming in from Amazon and I’m gonna buy a bag of playsand from Home Depot. Here’s the tank! I have a glass lid coming in from Amazon...

General food info

I’m planning on getting hermit it crabs, now that I’ve mostly dealt with any tank problems or questions I’ve had in curious on what a good daily balanced diet would be for the crabs? I have done much research on what foods they can and can’t eat but I want to make sure I’m 100% ready for when I get ...

DIY/Cheap alternatives

I took your advice! I found some Tupperware and items from the dollar store. This is just a temporary setup before I get sand and ecoearth. Does all of this look ok to you guys? I think I might need to add some fake grass or mess for them to be able to grip on the blue smooth plastic and the stand. ...

DIY/Cheap alternatives

You all really helped me with the second story problem but now I have another question! Is there any cheap houses/climbing materials and items you can use in a tank? I already seen some people use small plastic planting pots as houses and some people use mesh! But I’m curious. Also do you guys think...

Re: Second story materials

I just very recently saw where someone used clear plastic risers for 2nd level stuff! I typed it into Amazon search and am ordering some myself. I like that they’re clear bc it keeps them from being an eye sore. My tank is set up to look very natural...really looks like a mini jungle, lol. I plan t...

Second story materials

<t>I’m currently working on getting a hermit crab tank started. It will be my first time owning hermit crabs. I’m 17 and I’m on a budget! I purchased a 29 gallon tank for my future hermies and I was wondering what materials might be good for a second level. I read a lot of the topics and questions h...
