I am going away for a period of time and to make it easiest for my crabs temporary care taker I was thinking about purchasing Zoomed hermit crab mineral blocks. Any opinions on if this is a good food for hermies?

Like said above toys can rot. It really depends on the product and on the hermit crab. Some crabs are very destructive and prone to eating things while others are not so keep that in mind too.

Yes it is likely they are molting. Many pet stores don't have good conditions for crabs to molt so they might be trying to molt now. They could also be destressing as said above. Good Luck!

All of the ingredients in the baby food are safe for hermit crabs.
In the dried fruits/nuts there is added sugar which generally is not given to crabs.
