Thanks! I'm pretty happy with it so far. It's definitely a lot bigger than I thought it would be but, they have a ton more room now!

Crabitat v3.0

Soooo... it's been over a year now and we've added a 3rd hermie to our collection. (I was worried they were getting bored and lonely when there was only 2 and one would go down for a molt.) With that our crabbies have been doing good. They've gotten bigger, and after a little scare with SpongeBob, o...

Re: Crabitat v2.0

I think the new set-up looks awesome. I'm sure they're also loving the space! Thanks. They were checking it all out the other day, but now I think they've holed up somewhere as I haven't seen them out in the open for about 2 days. Our little crab seem to be the more adventurous one. He'll stay out ...

Re: Crabitat v2.0

Looks great!! I started back in this hobby with two 29s. They seem big when you carry them into the house, but once you start setting them up? Not so much. I've got some maple and oak branches that go corner to corner in my setups. Lots of climbing activity on them. One of my little guys spends mos...

Crabitat v2.0

Well, both our P.P.'s have come back from their 1st molt since we got them this summer. Our bigger crab had me a little worried because he was down for quite a while... almost a month and a half. The little guy, Spungebob, went down right after the big guy came up and was only down for about 2 weeks...

Too cute! They definitely look like Purple Pinchers to me.
Thanks, thats what I'm thinking as well.
Hopefully they'll be a little more active and social now that they've had a few molts. Their colors have definitely popped more since I took those pics when we 1st got them.

Re: New Crab Parents, saying Hi. Need help identifying.

shell changes are always cool to watch! love how they move it all around and check out the inside before they slip into the new shells It was really neat, and I'm surprised he did it while I was watching. Probably couldn't see me too well thru the foggy glass. My son was bummed tho, because after t...

Re: New Crab Parents, saying Hi. Need help identifying.

Those Hygger LED strip lights are nice. Lighting has come a long way for sure. Yeah... it works pretty well but sometimes it doesn't follow the timer programming and will stay on all night unless I manually adjust it. Don't know if it's an issue with the unit or if my son is messing with it. I've b...

Re: New Crab Parents... stopping to say hi.

Welcome! And cute little guys you have. Thanks @JTKermie... same here, they've not been too active during daylight hours but I know they've been coming out at night since I've found food dropped and holes and such dug. The little guy has just started wandering around more in the early mornings and ...

New Crab Parents, saying Hi. Need help identifying.

Hi everyone, Just wanted to drop a few lines and say hello. My 6yr old son and I are new parents to 2 crabs that grandma and grandpa picked up from a fair for my little guy. After finding out everything wrong that the carney salesman told us about crab-care, I'm happy to report that our little critt...
