Parrot Feathers?

I read that Hermit crabs can have feathers to eat, but only saw this about goose feathers. I have a green cheek conure, and 4 jars full of feathers. He's moulting again now, and i'm wondering if the crabbies can have some to snack on? They're purely untouched by any chemicals, or anything that I can...

Re: Should I get a second crab?

I don't know if I have to use the quote feature to directly respond to you or not. This is my first time using this forum/app. Sorry for the double post if quotes aren't necessary. ... Thank you for your response! In the future, I will be sure to just leave them be. I hate to think I caused it. -Do...

Re: Help me please

They're pretty hardy little guys! One of my big guys decided the air bubbler what a fun climbing rope, and pulled it straight out from the wall haha. But they're shells will protect them from the fall, if they do :)

Re: Should I get a second crab?

Hi There, As much as I understand the worry of not seeing our crabbies, we must never disturb them when they're underground. Moulting is an extremely delicate process, and even accidentally moving some of the top sub can collapse a moult tunnel and kill a crab. My crabbies once took 4-5 months to mo...

Re: Partially Blind Hermit Crab? Maybe neurological?

This kind of behavior can have a few different causes but none of them can be treated for or even ruled in/out because of the limitations in examining a hermit crab. Neuro/clumsy behavior can come about from nutritional imbalances, chemical exposure, physical injuries, organ failure, even hormonal ...

Partially Blind Hermit Crab? Maybe neurological?

First off, Welcome to Rhubarb! She’s a rescue i just picked up last week. However, since i’ve brought her home, she’s hardly moved. I know this can be normal if crabs are sick, but she won’t even eat or drink. She will occasionally pace the sides of the tank and fall into bowls, but that’s it. She w...

Yep. This is still fine to use. This mix is slightly different composition compared to the regular salt mix that red sea makes, the trace element ratio is slightly different in accordance to what SPS coral needs. But it will not impact any detrimental effect to the crabs.
Thank you!

Red Sea Salt - Can I use?

Just bought this bag of Red Sea Salt, but the packaging and words look different to what i find online? Same picture though. Can I use this for my crabs? Can’t figure out how to upload picture so will write what it says: “Red Sea Salt Ideal for SPS dominant systems” Same picture as the normal red se...

Large Tanks In Aus? NSW

Hi All,
I'm looking to upgrade my tank to something over 100gal.
However, I cannot find any tanks in NSW that are more than 100gal, and aren't 2k or more.

Where does everyone find their big tanks?
Thanks :)

Re: (Possible Emergency?) Hermit Crab has Green/Lime Body?

Did he molt recently? I've had purple pinchers change shells and show florescent yellow on their abdomens before, have also had joints show up bright orange. It tends to be a temporary pigment burst that fades before their next molt. Not that i'm aware of. He did go down for about 4 days but typica...

(Possible Emergency?) Hermit Crab has Green/Lime Body?

Hi all, have hardly been on this forum, but i’m quite concerned. I was just watching my 10 year old Aussie Hermit Crab want to change shells, he has hardly ever changed, but picked a new one for the second time a few weeks ago. When he took his ‘body’ out of the shell, it’s green? I’ve never seen th...
