Molted
I had my first successful molt this past week. It me me a minute before I realized that he came up from the sand . His exoskeleton is under the sand but I guess the sand filled his hole because of him and my other crab crawling around and I don’t know where to look for his exoskeleton. Is that okay?...

Another crab part
I recently posted something asking if my crab was molting because I found a hollow piece of crab leg on the surface of my sand. Today when I went to put food in my tank I found a crab claw. What is happening?? It’s scaring me because I’m not sure if mr krabs is dead or molting. My other crab venom j...
Re: Molting?
Where did you find the leg? On the surface? How big is your tank? How deep is your substrate? Wondering if the top side crab dug it up? Yes it was on the surface. My substrate it about 3-4 inches deep. My crabs aren’t that big they can completely burry themselves in the sand and out the sand on top...
Molting?
Hi guys. About 2 weeks ago my crab Mr. Krabs went under. A couple of days after he went under the tank started to have a chemically smell. I did some research and saw that this may be because he is molting I’m not sure though. Anyways, I want to say like maybe a couple days to a week later I found a...

Temperature and humidity question
Hey guys. What is the ideal temperature and humidity for a crabitat? My temperature stays between 70-75 and my humidity stays between 72-85. Is that okay? Also can the humidity be 90 and higher and can the temperature be low as 68?

Re: I NEED HELPP!!
Sometimes they stretch partway out to reach something like food or when inspecting another shell. As long as they aren't leaving their shell, and the shell itself seems to be structurally intact, then he's probably fine. If he does end up leaving his shell, you'll need to reshell him as soon as pos...

I NEED HELPP!!
I went to look at my crab and he’s like this. What does this mean when he’s half out of his shell? I was thinking he was dead because a crab I had once before was like this until she laid on her side and passed away. https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20221002/0ec85a101fb324c6c725f36f0c16281f.jpg Sent...

Crab stays buried and come up a few times
For the last month or so my crabs have been burying themselves under the sand and stays weeks at a time to the point I lose count of how long they’ve been under. Sometimes they come up for a little but goes right back under the same day for more weeks at a time. Does anyone knows what this mean? Or ...

Re: Hermit crab completely buried himself
do you recall if he was eating alot or drinking alot before he went down? That would be one indicator he might be molting. either molting or just tunneling or destressing, there is really no telling how long he will be. He may even be coming up at night, since they are primarily nocturnal. He can g...

Re: Hermit crab completely buried himself
digging all the way under and tunneling is completely normal behavior Do you know how long he will be under? The sand is on top of him will he be able to crawl out? He’s been like this since yesterday. I don’t know if he’s molting or not. I do have another crab in the tank so incase he is molting I...

Hermit crab completely buried himself
I’m a fairly new crab owner and I’m concerned because one of my crabs (Mr. Krabs) completely buried himself. I’ve seen him bury himself many times but the tip of his shell always showed. This time he’s all the way under. Can he breath? Is he molting? I’m just worried because I recently had a crab I ...
