You can boil shells in tap water to disinfect them.

I mean to remove the dirt and calcium built up on it so it looks more polished

Is cleaning shells with bleach safe for Hermit Crab after cleaned / rinsed thoroughly ? and vinegar too. Or what's the best way to clean shells ?

I dry the eggshell by putting it in front of a fan for long though, it should be dry enough coz I'm afraid the softer skin after the shell can rot.
