Introducing a Live Plant
This summer, I am going on a trip. Just in case my mom forgets to feed Pumpkin some nights, I’d like to add a live plant that he can forage. Nothing too big because I have a 30 gallon tank. I’d also like to note that I have tried air plants, and Pumpkin tore them up and made a mess everywhere. I’d l...

Re: Meet Pumpkin!!
I am keeping the humidifier in at 85+ but when I am not home it drops to 65. The temperature is at 77 (pumking is a pp so this should be fine i think). i have to leave his light on all the time to maintain that temperature, but once the heating pad arrives i will only turn on his light in the day. I...

Re: Meet Pumpkin!!
Yes, but the inside bottom has an acrylic board which will protect from damage due to the moisture and the wood will hold heat better than a glass tank. all the sides have a waterproof coating. If this doesn’t work out, I still have my 15 gallon glass tank. The humidity is now at 85% and the tempera...

Re: Meet Pumpkin!!
He eats “gourmet” hermit crab food from amazon! its more spendy (at least for a 15 year old) but worth it because he loves it. (especially the seafood flavor. right now hes eating the bug blend but he doesnt like it as much) I guess it was easier to keep humidity when i used a heat pad. i’ll order o...

Does filtered water from my fridge work as freshwater?
It’s what I’ve been using because Google said it doesn’t have chlorine, but are there other things I should be worried about?

Re: How does my new crabitat look? I got the tank for christmas!
I have a 100 W bulb and it’s a 28 gallon tank. Pumpkin is most active at 90% + humidity. Should I get a lower wattage heat bulb? I also have a 50 W bulb with light that I turn on in the daytime, but I could replace it with a 25 W that I already have.

Re: How does my new crabitat look? I got the tank for christmas!
The dirt is still being broken up. It was sort of an emergency transfer. The dirt will be level when it is broken up. I’ll add more things to it soon. I really appreciate suggestions. This is my first time using HCA. BTW, I had 2 crabs, one of them died by either suffocating or being eaten. I’m not ...

That was when i first installed it. The temp is up to 89 and I have trouble keeping the humidity up. It was at 49% but I just misted it. It should be up to about 80% soon.
