Re: Cause of Hermit Crab Deaths?
I would say over crowding too but if you have your 29 not as a topper and connect the two with just the 10 and if you have enough substrate in the 29 and 50 (I'd say 8 plus inches cause you have big crabs) then you should be fine for now.

Re: Crab out of shell
I would definitely set up an isolation tank. And he needs to get back into a shell. Within the iso tank you can put the crab into a container with a little bit of fresh water in the bottom and you can put in at least three shells and the one he was in before he left it. then make it dark by putting ...

I read the link you attached and I've already done everything it says except for holding him in my hand. He also currently ...

Re: One likes to dig
If he is still eating and climbs around then it is probably him just digging to dig. Everything about your tank sounds great.

Isolated hermit crab question
So a couple weeks ago I had a hermit crab that came up from a molt and he was acting weird and within the next night I noticed that he was missing a leg so when I took a closer look he was missing more then one and he wasn't really moving. So I had put him in an isolation tank next to the main set u...
