Re: Temporary Tank Set Up for New Crabbies
Oh yay! So adorable. I tried heat lamps and it was way too drying, like you mentioned. I ended up removing them and placing a heat mat on three sides. (Back, left and right). Temp and humidity stays consistent 80/85.

Re: Boring
That sounds like a great idea with the mat. I just added led lights and they are very intrigued with the blue light night setting. Also, I popped a cholla stick in and they sat there all day instead of hiding. I guess it's trial and error with what's exciting to them.

Boring
Hi! Do you all change up your crab "toys" periodically to keep them playful and exercising? How often and would a toy rotation work? The most I've got as far as exercise/play is a wall climber with seats. It seems to be entertaining to one of my crabs, but I'm not sure if it will eventually get bori...

Re: Crawling on the ceiling
Yeah I left it. It's just a new routine to check the lid now, before I open it. So far, no escapes. I've got plastic wrap, silicone mat, mini white board, and baby quilt on top. Pretty weighed down.

Crawling on the ceiling
Hi! I just got a fun wall climber, but it reached the top. Now, one of my very energetic explorers is constantly crawling on the screen upside down. Is this risky or not a problem? I opened the lid while she was on it, unknowingly, and she fell Into the pool. She is back at it, bravely. I decided I ...

Re: Pools size
I just upgraded to a 20 gallon tank. I put these pools along the back in one corner, so there are three corners left to dig. My crabs typically go in corners. There is so much room to dig and be separated, I'm not worried. Are you using the shelf? I couldn't find anything that would work well enough...

Re: Cold room
Thanks. I did order a third pad for the side. It's better than covering the entire tank with a blanket. I'll take losing a side view for a few extra degrees.

Cold room
Hi! I just adopted a bunny, and I need to cool down the room my crabs are in. This is posing a problem, as I now have an ac running all day/night. Does anyone have experience with keeping the room cold enough for another pet to survive, like a bunny, yet keeping the tank hot enough for the crabs to ...

Re: Water dish exit?
I used plastic canvas from the needlework aisle of the craft section in Walmart. I've seen it done before and seems good. There are YouTube videos on it from Crab Central Station, some basic pool set up and some more advanced.

Etsy meals
Does anyone else offer their crabs the meal kits from Etsy hermit shops? I'm wondering if it says complete meal, that I can stop giving fresh food every day that goes bad. I offer green sand, a seafood complete dried meal, and a green mix complete dried meal, with snake skins, and Timothy hay sticks...

Re: What are your crabs up to?
Exciting news! I went on a vacation for a few days, and when I came back, I saw all 3 of my crabs were above sand! I got to upgrade the tank that very night, and they went crazy. They explored every inch and were frolicking around together all morning as the sun came up. They have this curl of birch...
