Re: Crab Up Too Early, Missing Limbs, No Shell

UPDATE:
Hermie seems to doing fine. She and Magnum seem to be getting on, both are eating, drinking, and exploring like normal. I'm happy it turned out this way. Thanks for all your help.

Re: Crab Up Too Early, Missing Limbs, No Shell

She did surface molt (ugh). Yes, she is moving around and I have been feeding her normal food. She also has little containers of salt and fresh water. She has taken on her color and seems to be normal. I'm just not sure how long to wait before letting her in the main tank.

Re: Crab Up Too Early, Missing Limbs, No Shell

Hermit molted again about a week ago. She has all her limbs, but has shrunk considerably. She is eating and I still have her in isolation. When should I let her out into the main tank? She has eaten her exoskeleton, but I wasn't sure how long I should wait. Magnum (her companion) is up and about.

Re: Crab Up Too Early, Missing Limbs, No Shell

Hermie is still alive. I keep food and water for her, but I am not sure how much she is eating. Last time I really looked at her there were some growth nubs for legs. She has been active mainly at night, so I am just going to ride the wave and see how it goes.

Re: Crab Up Too Early, Missing Limbs, No Shell

She went back in a shell. She ate a bit of green sand and worm castings. The claw she has left is her large claw, but it has obviously been regrown as it is not the size it used to be. She had reburied, but apparently came up last night. She is still alive because she moved when I covered her with o...
