Are fake plants safe to use in my hermit crab cage? I'm afraid the crabs might pinch off pieces and eat them.

The temp. got up to 87.

I see two like horns from his shell. What kind of shell does he have? I know he is a tough crab a friend give me him. He was locked in her suitcase and she flew back with it. I can only imagine he was scared. I got him a nice 20-gallon tank etc he has been doing great for 4 years. So glad you took ...

If you can still see his shell, I would think he is close enough to the surface to come up if he wants to. I'd just leave him.

But hopefully someone who has had crabs longer than I have will come soon to answer your question!

And what happens to the babies after they hatch? Do you keep them all?
