Thanks for the replies :) As for Petsmart, there is one about an hour away, but all they have are small crabs, about 1-2" maybe. I have a few :) But I have never seen a Straw in person, and the Petco has some :) I agree on driving. I may even get a wild hair and drive to the beach this weekend and p...

Just how hard is it to keep Strawberrys?

I just called a Petco, and they said they had 2 large Strawberrys there. I have entertained the idea of going to get them. I have PP's, and E's right now. But I have read in here about how hard the Straws are to keep. Is that really fact? Will I have problems w/ these? I would have to drive about an...

Where can I get some Jumbo Hermit Crabs???

Hey all, I know most of yall don't really recommend buying crabs online. But I am looking for some more jumbo crabs, and I have had a hard time finding them! I could drive 4 hours to Myrtle Beach, but I just want to look around online first to see my other options. If any of you could recommend some...

Really?! Yall think I have some Ruggies? That would be awesome! They were off in a corner alone, and I know were suffering. When I bought them, I put them in a deli cup w/ lid and had a wet paper towel put in there. They were wild and awake all the way home! Yall might kill me for this, but I put a ...

What kind of hermie crabs are these...They are white?

What kind of crabber is this? Sorry, I don't have any pics right now. I bought 3 of them from PetSmart. They were in a corner to themselves. They are about the size of a quarter maybe? And they are very white. They look like little ghosts. They seem to have the long eyes, so maybe they are baby E's?...

The predatory mites only eat the mites from the crabs. They want nothing to do with the crabs themselves. It's too bad you threw them away, they are truly beneficial in getting rid of the mites. The crabs were most likely stressed from the mites being on them and the stress from the bathing to get ...

I am sorry to hear about your problems :( I know what you are going through, as I have been through it w/ my PP crabs :( I had one in particular that had mites, and I read all the care pages on here about them. I seperated my girl, and kept her in iso for about 4 weeks. I used ocean salt (for hermit...

I have to agree. I would put something OVER their lid. I don't let any kind of fumes or sprays get near them. It could prove lethal at any time, now or a couple of weeks down the road :(
