Re: Moss pits

Mine LOVE their moss pits. They are constantly eating/munching on it all the time, and sleep in it for hours at a time! I have 2 sections up high in my tanks, they are the suction cup style holders that go in showers, and they work great! When I go away on trips though, they usually tear them down i...

LOLOL!

Well, that is a good idea, and no offense taken! I do the same thing with crickets....they are always gone. They love fresh protein like that. I think it's a smart idea.

They gotta eat!

Nice thread...at one time, I used this same food....my crabs loved it, and my E's would fight over it... However, after feeding them this food, I started seeing deformed legs on 90% of my crabs when they would come up from molts...mostly on the E's, a couple of the PP's and 2 straws. So, I eliminate...

Mine go nuts over papaya! I pick the ones at Walmart that are almost mushy feeling, and they are extremely ripe. Personally, I tried one, and think it tastes nasty!

But they love it, and will munch on each piece, down to the hull!

I am going through the same sort of thing... I found my Bugsy7 naked under the salt pond yesterday... At first I thought he was a victim of a shell snatcher.. He was covered in sand all over his abdomen and very pale...and lifeless.. I placed him in ISO inside his tank, and really figured he would ...

He was surface molting, and was caught in his molt. I had to help him get out of his molt... He ended up dropping 2 legs, but will not eat his exo....

I am not totally sure this was due to ethoxquin, but I did have some very bad molts when I used commercial foods. During soem molts, I had crabs lose limbs, ad I know it wasnt because there was an attacker crab. I have also had one crab that was so severley deformed he only had one eye and one claw...
