Beautiful. I have been using adjustable locker shelves you can get at any large office supply store. They use tension to hold them against the walls of the tank. They haven't slipped yet.It has kept the shells clean(when they aren't using them as a toilet). I use different levels to place their food...

I know this is to late but I thought I would offer my experience. My experience was very different. My large 60 gallon acrylic aquarium held heat and humidity and lighting was no problem. Also the noise of the shells smacking the walls was more muffled. I switched it to a longer 55g glass tank and a...

I use industrial velcro. It doesn't slip but can be scraped off. New velcro is needed for redecorating though. Velcro can be found in most grocery stores. :)

The hermies will love the plants. I have put those kind of bromeliads in and they completely shred them, but they have a good time doing it! Nice viv.

That is a neat idea. Thanks for the search work starmaiden. Looks like it would hold better than the suction cups.

My indo Blackberry is pretty mellow. He is down for a molt now(he's a jumbo). He is more active in the early am and seems to get along fine with my PP's. I haven't found him shy, but he is not a very active crab in general. Unfortunately I only have one indo and maybe he is just lonely. Blackberry i...

I have a sm-med PP who is just nasty premolt. He has attacked larger crabs before he went down to molt. He took chunks of a BP on two of the larger crabs. He was nasty for over 6 months. When he finally came up from the molt he was cranky but not aggressive anymore. It helped when he went into iso. ...

I agree that natural shells are the most beautiful. I even like the calcium encrusted pica's that one of my hermies has on. When a crab reaches the jumbo size someone may have to consider alternative type shells if the larger natural shell sizes aren't available or unaffordable. I have noticed that ...

The setup is a metro rack, then a plank of pink rigid insulation, then the T-Rex Cobra heat mat, then the 50g sitting directly on the uth. My 20g,20gL glass tanks have the rigid insulation, spacers, the uth stuck to the bottom of the tank(these are not Cobra heat mats)which seem to be on permanently p...
