If you could please fill out this template, we would all be glad to help you even more and give some suggestions. :) (copy and paste) 1. What kind of substrate is used in your tank and how deep is it? 2. Do you have gauges in the tank to measure temperature and humidity? If so, where are they locate...

I think that it would be a good idea to teach people about both land and marine crabs, and starting a forum would be a great way to do this.

I seriously doubt anyone could be allergic to hermit crabs. There's really nothing a crab has that can trigger an allergy unless you eat one, and I'm guessing you're not going to do that.

Yep, sometimes crabs are like that. I used to have a really mean crab who pinched alot, but after his molt he's feeling pretty friendly now.

I had an E die a couple of weeks ago too and his abdomen was also slightly distorted. Maybe they just shrivel up. :? Sorry for all your losses. :(

Okay, I've identified these things as springtails, they're sort of jumping around in the tank. I did the stupidest thing last night in my panic, I forgot to turn on the heating bulbs. This morning it was like 63 degrees. The crabs seemed okay, but the bugs don't appear to be moving anymore. Then I s...

HUNDREDS OF BUGS!!!!

Yesterday I cleaned out my water dishes and today I found a swarm of bugs in it!!!! There were at least 200 tiny black things in clusters forming a sort of a cloud. I immediately poured the water out and washed the dish thoroughly. I can still see some jumping around in the tank. Since I use...

I think I know what worms you are talking about. The best thing you can do is a deep clean. That's how I got rid of mine. Also your current humdity is too low. It should range from 75% to 85%. Same with your temperture.

I do not suggest you only feed your crabs commercial food. They should have a variety of fruit and vegetables, along with some foods that contain protein like eggs. They should also have a source of calcium, which is very important.

What I can see is that you tat is a bit dry, it should always be above 75% and the temperture shouldn't go below 75. But just to make sure, can you please fill out this template? 1. Substrate used? 2. Humidity % level in crabitat? 3. Temperature of substrate in crabitat? 4. Temperature of crabitat? ...
