Let me know how it goes Calla! I'm really interested to see if your crabs like the radish leaves too.

I gave my hermies some fresh red clover today. :) First of the season!

Try number two for radish greens & stems was successful! My hermies definitely ate quite a bit of both the stems and leaves. Here's what I fed them: Coconut chunks Raw Asparagus Radish Leaves and Stems Crickets Banana The banana, coconut and radish were strewn about the tank, mostly eaten. The aspar...

I didn't know they could have those. Do your crabs seem to enjoy them? They were a first try for my hermies. They are an edible salad green for humans and I know they'll ignore them if they find them too spicy or otherwise not to their liking, so I thought I'd give them a shot. I fed the stems and ...

Maple Syrup?

I was just wondering if pure maple syrup (from pesticide-free trees) would be ok to give to hermies as a once in awhile treat. If they can have honey and they can eat maple leaves then I'm wondering if a little maple sugar would be ok. Anyone know?

now I am REALLY confused!!

I came back from a meeting and peeked in on Ginny to see how she was doing. She was hanging upside down from the top of the ISO!! I took her out and gently bathed her to get the excess sand off of her from all the digging. There's no way she could have molted, rested, ate her exo and hardened in one...

First Molt?????

Ok so I got worried when it was suggested that Ginny might be pre-molt so I took her out to quickly inspect her exo. She was pretty crabby (if you'll excuse the overused pun) and somewhat agressive (really digging into my hand with her legs, pushing away while I was trying to look at her). I noticed...

Well I don't know exactly what you mean by "fingernails" but I looked at her legs and on the front two she has little "spikes" or "prongs" to help her climb I suppose and they are black but the actual tips of her legs aren't. Please let me know what you think. Oh and again if anyone can think of why...

Oops...forgot to reply to this one other thing in my outrageously long reply:
They will try to escape, make sure the lid is on tight
