Suction Cup alternatives

I have noticed the question has popped up a lot lately, so add your ideas here!I gave up on suction cups and now use1. Adhesive Velcro strips2. Command adhesive stripsand when the above just don't hold, I use Silicone Aquarium Sealant as an adhesive- just wipe the glass very dry and give some ventilation while it cures (no water, so it doesn't really "dry"). You can get the type that is made for bathrooms as well- just make sure it is 100% silicone!I have used it with crabs in the tank, making sure they can't try to climb the surface until it is fully cured (keep the net off the hook overnight). If you are the nervous type, maybe wait until the slight vinegar like smell dissipates before adding crabs- it is easier to leave the lid off without crabs in the tank.

Yeah....I'm going to have to do that. I've never had any trouble with the Command adhesives before, but lately they've all been falling off. I think my jumbo is pulling them off---he's been very active lately.

I know that suction cups are kinda tricky but if you rub them on skin and then put them up you might get better results. You see your skin oils are just the right of moisture to keep the cups sticking. I hope that helps.

I can always scrape it if I want to remove the hooks.
