We got 'Ollie' from Petsmart about 3 years ago as a very little crab, along with a companion (who died last week). Ollie may be an Ecuadorian Hermit Crab, his eyes look different from the Purple Pincher type. He is VERY reclusive and has never wanted to be out when we are here. We are looking for a home for him where he could have a companion about his size. (It doesn't seem like it would be wise to introduce a very small companion into his habitat here.) If you want to adopt him, it should be with the understanding that he probably won't afford you much pleasure, but hopefully he could bring comfort to another crab his size that is lonely. Because of how reclusive he has been, I have no idea for sure when he last molted, but it does seem like we noticed him emerging, very much covered in sand, a couple of weeks ago.
