I have 7 thriving PP ranging in size from small to large. I am desperate to get them adopted out, ideally together and in their same living conditions. My father recently passed away which requires a lot of time to process and manage every… and now I am having my own health scares that could be serious. I inherited a cat and a dog with my father’s passing and am about to have major surgery on my neck. It’s a lot to handle, especially being a single mom. I will be very limited with mobility and already concerned how I will get in and out of the tank to feed them/change water. I would be so grateful if there is anyone near Raleigh that can take them on and care for them properly and with love. They are such cool little creatures. I’m devastated at the thought and having a hard time writing this and accepting it’s what’s best for them. My physical capabilities don’t allow me to care for them like they deserve.

They live in a 75 gallon tank on the bottom, but I have another 35 gallon topper on one side so they they can climb all they want. This all sets on a cabinet that came with the larger bottom tank. Houses most of their supplies easily. All of their conditions meet HCA requirements… hence the reason they are all still alive and well! It was my goal once I learned their proper care, to provide the most realistic crabitat I could. They have salt and fresh water with bubblers, deep sandcastle-like consistency substrate. Bean Farm & Ultherm heaters all over the back and sides to keep the temp up. Other than their pools they can climb in and out of, I also have another pool with coral and shells that they can wade through. I also keep little drinking cups of water towards the top of the topper to help with humidity there. They also have a moss pit up there that I keep damp. Lots of logs and hidey places, plus their favorite walking wheel. I even have a little computer fan that I rigged for them in there so they get a nice little breez. Haha. Their huge shell shop has sizes that suit all of them with some a little tighter fit and some a baggier fit. Lol. Always tried to find their favorite gold mouth turbos. They really are spoiled rotten! I love them. They get all the good foods they need, all supported by the HCA. I use an Etsy shop for some and other things I find at stores like Whole Foods with reliable ingredients… or just whole foods from food at the house.

Their names and in order that I got them starting almost 5 years ago…

1) Hermione (biggest, brightest & my OG)
2) Flash (medium and dark colored)
3,4,5) Sandy & Gary (bigger) & Turbo (aka-Turbs, medium and light in color-most active). These 3 were all adopted through here at the HCA.
6) Truffles was another adoption through HCA and is about the same size of Turbo or a little smaller. I call her Truffle-butt haha.
7) Little Ruby (she has red eyes). She’s the smallest. I broke down at Petsmart seeing her in this awful condition and felt I had to save her. Gave the lady working a kind earful about what these cool little creatures actually need to survive comfortably, if they are left with captive lives.

Anyways, I’m reaching out to my HCA supporters for help in adopting my little friends I’ve grown to be very protective of. Saved ones life when I found him shell-less at the very bottom corner of the tank under several inches of substrate. I was desperate to help him and couldn’t understand how it happened… shell jacking while underground? Just thankful he made a window so I could see him. Very carefully dug for him, knowing he was vulnerable, but would die if I didn’t. I managed to scoop him safely in a cup and followed HCA protocol from there to get him re-shelled. It worked, then kept him in iso for a few days and he’s been good to go ever since!

I’m stalling because this is hard for me. Is there any kind soul that could rehome them? I would gladly give away my entire set up to ensure they are familiar and comfortable and have all that they need.

Will gladly provide my number to anyone who is serious and can also provide pictures if you’d like. Please only reach out with good intentions to love and care for them. I know the tank and stand itself is monetarily valuable (fairly new too), but would need to feel comfortable it will remain the hermie’s home. Thank you
