NEW BRUNSWICK, NJ

Several months ago I purchased 2pp for my kids without doing research. Immediately I did the research and now I have a ten gallon tank with eco earth, fresh and salt water, extra shells, and places to hide and climb, in addition to a heat regulated isolation tank with a similar set up. Unfortunately, after waiting fourteen weeks for our new friends to join us, we determined they had not survived.

Technically I am a first time crab owner, but these guys seem to be the perfect pet for my temperament. I am willing to travel up to an hour to ethically obtain two or three new crabs.

Be well. :)

SOUTHEASTER PA, NORTH OF PHILADELPHIA

Southeaster Pa, north of Philadelphia a bit. A month ago two hermit crabs came home with the kids from the shore. Within a day only one was left. We learned alot, got a 10 g tank and I think the basics. I appreciate all the info on this site. It has been helpful. Now we need some company for "Sandy" and would like to adopt another instead of adding again to the sad trade in wild hermits. I think what we have is a purple pincher, a medium-small size. Willing to travel 1-1 1/2 hours to meet a crab in need of a home.

SOUTH NJ CLOSE TO PHILA AND DE

Currently live in Southern NJ about 45 minutes away from the shore points, and I am willing to travel the entire state of NJ, as well as up to 2 hours away to a surrounding state (PA,DE,VA,NY,etc).

I have 5 PPs in a 60 gallon, with plenty of room to spare. They have 12” of a 5:1 mix of playsand and EE, large 5x9 inch fw and sw pools with bubblers. Their CRABITAT is full of enrichment, with cork logs, cholla wood, large 2nd floor moss pit, lots of hermit safe plants, coco hides, a hanging coconut filled with moss, and a large shell pit on the 2nd floor that has shells they like to forage through. Also have chia sprouts growing in my tank that they love to walk through and eat! Heat is at 82degrees, dips to 80 at night, and has an 80%humidity that remains stable during the day and night. They are only fed organic, fresh foods, as well as fresh dried food from Hermie’s Kitchen.

I have had my 5 PPs for 5-6 years and they have all molted with me numerous times successfully. I have even had a mass molt where all of them went down at the same, and several molts back to back. I have never had any aggressive behavior or issues in my crabitat. :cheer:

I am willing and able to adopt/re-home up to 4 teeny/micro crabs, 3 small crabs, and 2 medium to large crabs ( my largest is about the size of a golf ball).

If you would like to know more, message me!

MANASQUAN, NJ

My siblings and I have had HCs since we were young. Unfortunately they've been split up because my sisters took 2/3 of them to CT. I have a friendly purple pincher here and would love to give him some company. I'm in Manasquan, NJ and willing to travel. I also travel up to Newark area often.

PHILADELPHIA, PA / SOUTH JERSEY AREAS

Hi, I just started "crabbing again" and am looking for new crabs to add to the two I currently have. I preferably would like to adopt and I can drive probably about 1-1.5 hours (maybe more depending on the situation).

I used to have a 75g tank with 24 hermit crabs in it which I had for years. Now my life is settled and stable and would love to start a new tank up. I'm starting with a 40g breeder, but will likely upgrade again down the line, so I have plenty of room!

Feel free to contact me for questions.

SOUTHERN NJ

Located in Camden county. Willing to travel to all adjacent counties, and possibly up to an hour.

In the past, I worked at a pet store, and rescued a few of the injured o stressed cabbies, but would rehome if they survived a molt or two. Longest I’ve had one is 3 years.

Purple pinchers, or anything with similar living environments.

I recently rescued a pair that was purchased at the shore. Last night I set up a 45gallon. Tomorrow is inside set up time! 8”+ substrate(coral sand, sand/coco, and pure coco areas) fresh and salt pools, tons of climbing media, and hides. Dried mixed food, and a variety of fresh foods daily. (I like to share my own food as I prepare it. My chickens and shrimp love it especially garden leftovers) huge variety of calcium, and natural habitat foraging supplements added and rotated to variety. And many MANY shells.

I can take on about 6-8 additional cabbies(more tank addition). Email sang21ferret@gmail.com, if no reply after a few days try tyratim@gmail.com

NEPA/MOOSIC/SCRANTON, PA

I'm on the lookout for small-medium crabs to join my lil guy in a 55 gallon. (He's in a 1 ¼ shell currently)
Located in Moosic, and would prefer to stay within 10 miles give or take. But may be willing to travel further.
So if you're looking to rehome up to 3, I'm available and willing to take them and put them right into an established crabitat.

*Salt & fresh pools w/bubblers, 6" 5:1 substrate, variety of foods, extra shells, hides, moss pit, 80/80, climbing and exploring opportunities, exercise wheel*

Hi! My name is Katie and I am looking to adopt two medium size hermit crabs who are sociable and friendly. I am located in Hillsbourough, and are looking for adoptees located in Princeton, somerset, Jersey City, and beyond. I have a 40 gallon tank currently with 8 inches of eco earth and playsad, climbing tools, cholla wood, cork rounds, climbing wheels, water pools deep enough to dubmerge (freshwater and saltwater), multiple dishes for food with proper diet of protein, veggies, fruit, grain, and occasianly a treat (yippee!). I also have a shell shop with many shells of different variety, multiple hides, a moss pit, foraging mix, and a major conch shell for enrichment. I have been a hermit crab owner for 4 years now and am willing to drive 30 miles to pick up the hermit crabs if need be. Thank you!
