Description: Indos are the largest of the land hermit crab species that are kept in captivity. They can be identified by their disproportionally large big pincher and their round black eyes. Colors are generally in the purple and brown families. Smaller specimens are not often imported for the pet trade.
Native Habitat: Rain forests of the South Pacific and Indian Oceans.
Temperatures: 80-85 degrees
Humidity: At least 80%, and higher is safer
Diet: Very much into cellulose - bark and leaves from various safe trees. Also like grains and other plant material.
Activity Level: Very active. They are a curious species and are more likely to explore new things (and humans).
Shells: Turbos.
