Petco And Petsmart In My Area

Post by IMS08 » Tue Apr 26, 2016 1:07 am

Hello Everyone!

I live in a suburb of Milwaukee, WI and the stores in the area are TERRIBLE as far as conditions, and I was wondering if anyone knows of a good store with Hermit Crabs in the Milwaukee area? Maybe one that sells exotics?

You should check into privately owned and operated exotic pet stores in the area. Usually they are much cleaner, the employees have better on hands training, and they can give you tips and tricks that PETsMART and petco can't offer. Ours is the same way. Their tropical set UPS are dry, they sell containers of bugs where half of them are dead, and dont clean their aquariums near often enough. At least once a day would probably make a significant difference.

You got to remember something about the big chain pet stores. They get in shipments of animals thay they dont anticipate having more than a few weeks, so it seems like they put different responsibilities on their employees. No, stop messing with the fish, stock the dog food! What are you doing? Forget the ferret cage, we have to do mark downs! With their jobs on the line from upper management, meeting that quota and making those sales becomes priority over keeping the animals healthy enough to sell. I have gotten into them twice for selling fish to novice owners with improper information. But it isn't going to stop them.
