Hey all
So I may or may not have posted already about all the crabs going through 2 successful molts respectively, and they've grown a good amount so today I went and bought some new shells! Trouble is, my supplier's turbos only get so big... So, I've decided that because I know the crabs don't like the heavy shells I've tried (bigger turbos), I'd get some other types of shells for them to try. I got a tonna (I know I know, I'm testing out if they're into it), a pink murex, and two tapestry turbos as a backup. I'll post any updates, two are down right now but maybe they'll resurface later at night as usual. Fingers crossed!

Yaaaay more shells!!
I don't know what sizes you're into now, or what you're used to paying... but I was pleasantly surprised by the pricing of the larger polished turbo shells at Richards' Shells. Their sizes tend to run a bit large, it seems. Just throwing it out there (as a northerner, I don't have a lot of options, so ignore me if $9 for a 1.5" opening is a lot... I haven't many comparisons! )

I think Richard's prices are VERY reasonable. Even cheaper than local beach shops for that size!!LadyJinglyJones wrote:Yaaaay more shells!!

my pps do love turbos but i find just as often they take pink and apple murex. (max 1murex shell to every 3-4 turbos) plus two of four came in land snail shells. haven't tried those yet.
i recently found a seller with nice prices depending on selling venue but haven't bought from him yet. (slow to buy shells online)

How large are they? Usually when they are under an inch opening they are very creative in their shell choices. Once they get larger they latch on to turbos. 46 some crabs, hundreds of shells, and every one is in a Mexican (Striped) or Tapestry here.
