So you got your money back? That's good to hear. I'm in the same boat at the moment. I had to go through three different people at paypal before I spoke to someone who said they would email her and tell her to give me a refund. The first two people at paypal said that LHC.com would have to contact them first, which we know would never happen. When I started to dig into this I discovered that LHC.com gave paypal a bogus contact phone number to begin with: (631)555-1212 which is a directory assistance number.

If anyone else plans to order from LHC.cm do not use your credit card for the transaction, open a paypal account to do it because paypal will tell you that they can do nothing about it becuase you paid the vendor directly with your cc, even if the money still went through paypal.

You should have heard the woman at paypal's reaction when I used the phrase "money laundering through paypal".

It is extremely hard to find any information on the ownership or physical address of an online vendor. It's seems to me that each of us could open a fake website and steal money through yahoo and paypal and never get into legal trouble. Paypal seems like it was trying to protect LHC.com more than the people who's money is going through paypal.

Cancelling my order, done with LHC.com. Hopefully, in the future, there will be a place that sells exotic hermit crabs and actually has/ships them.

Sorry you didn't get them Shawn. When did you order, I think it was at the start of April, or was it before that? Sucks to wait all that time and not get them in the end. I hope you can adopt some if you don't find another vendor.

I ordered in the beginning of April, and I received this email on may 18th.. "We apologize for the delay. We are behind on shipments as I am having medical issues and cannot ship as many orders as I used to per week.. We will be selling the remaining stock and closing. I am hoping to get your order shipped in 2 weeks." I'll let you guys know if I hear anything more

She told me 3 weeks on May 6th for my April 3rd order. I still don't have mine. I am beginning to think whatever she says in her emails is just to get us off her back until that time period passes.

On May 5, I ordered 2 small Aussies from LHC. Before placing my order I emailed LHC and asked about when they would be shipped. They replied in about 12 hours saying they were behind on shipping and it would be about a month. I ordered imediayely afterseeingthereply. It's now been more than 5 weeks. I've emailed them twice asking about an approximate ship date and haven't heard anything from them besides the automatic email that says my order was placed and I will get an additional email before they are shipped. Their website says orders might have to be cancelled and placed again after 30 days, how do I know if LHC processed my payment? It was credit so it showed up on my statements right away. How long has it taken you guys to get your orders? This is my first time ordering from them and I'm really frustrated that they aren't responding to emails when it's been more than 5 weeks since the order was placed. I'm a college student so I will only be home until august and I'd like to be able to spend some time observing my 98 dollar order before I have to go back to school. My mom takes care of my crabs while I'm at school because my school has a no pets policy. I wouldn't be so frustrated if they would respond to my emails, but I'm getting impatient about waiting for my crabs to get here.

Been waiting over three months and it's getting to where I do not get responses to email inquiries as to the status of my order. I even said I accept some more readily available substitutes for the harder-to-obtain exotics, but noting has shown up yet. I hate to cancel my order.......but it was a big price order and I kinda feel a little paranoid about send LHC.com so much money and now it seems like the communication has fallen by the wayside.

Exactly. They communicated before the order was placed and then nothing. No reply to any email after. It's rediculous.

LHC is no longer selling hermit crabs. I am not sure why they haven't shut their site down yet but the owners were telling people earlier this spring that they would fulfill existing orders but no longer take new ones.

Well obviously they're taking new ones since they communicated with me before I placed the order about selling me aussies. I don't know why they're still taking orders if they have the intention of shutting down and told people they were closing.... Does anyone know if there is another online store that sells exotics in the US?

Basically, from what I've learned so far you'll eventually get your crabs, but it will take between 2 months to a year, and no amount of e-mailing her will make that go any faster. She's only selling aussies and e's until they're gone and not replenishing anything that's sold out. Reptile City sells straws but they don't have any in stock, and I never found any other sellers. My advice would be to not cancel the order and just wait for the crabs to come one day because it's faster than reordering. I ordered mine in April, and was told the wait would be two weeks. So far it's been two months. Never believe anything she says about when they will arrive unless it's the actual day of shipping. Good Luck.
