Crabbymom- Do you have a tropicaire or a reptifogger? If so what's the brand name? Also what's it keep you humidity at and do you still have to wet the substrate or mist here and there also? Sorry for all the questions.
I'm going to have more then on tank so I won't be able to have a fogger for each one. I'm going to put the fogger on one of my 40 gallon long tanks with all my exotics in that tank. I'll probally keep my Es in there too. That way I don't have to worry as much about each individual tanks humidity and the exotics will be getting what they need and the PPs will have their humidity in the required range. It will make life easier until I get my mega tank one day!!!
Yeah ive hear a lot of different issues people have had with them, but for one thing I'm not buying it and I'm sure my dad knows which ones are relaiable.
I was just looking at some and I really like the little ones that you can put in water bowls, decorations, or a water fall to make it look like the fog is rolling down. The looks really neat but I'd rather have one of the big ones that way I don't have to worry about my straws or other exotics. Maybe one day when I get my dream tank!!!

I heard that too, but also heard that when they work people love them. I also heard that the company is good about working with you if something goes wrong. I've had mine since last January. It runs 3 times a day for 15 minutes in my 90 and does a great job!

I have the Reptifogger in my 90 gallon, made by Zoo Med: http://www.reptilesupply.com/product.ph ... ts_id=2394
Looks like it is on sale at reptilesupply.com right now for $10 off!

Once a week I spray the substrate with about a quart of water. I have both UTHs and lights, so the surface substrate does dry out a bit. After I spray I have to vent the plastic on the lid a bit for a couple of days. The rest of the time it stays pretty stable at 80% to 82%. It spikes when it runs - up to around 90%, but then stablizes.

wow I think that's the cheapest i've seen them. good to hear your experience with it has been good. I love watching videos of it fog up the entire tat, just find it kinda amusing. If the tropicaire doesnt do a decent job i'll certainly consider that one.

Thanks for the info. I'll have to see what my dad brings me. If I don't like what he gets me I can always return it and then get the repti fogger!!!!

Crabbymom what kind of water do you use in it? It say that sometimes distilled water won't make fog so it's better to use spring. Not that I would mind that since we always get bottles water but Im curious to see if that statement is true.

not yet, been checking every 10 mins or so. Last time I received my shipping email very very late, and I know the crabs themselves did not ship until after 4pm. don't lose hope yet. they still may ship

I've been checking too!!! Ive also been running around trying to get stuff finished so I have a play to put the newbies!!! Ahhhhh. Make sure you post here if you get your emails n I'll do the same. For some reason my wifi won't let me on the hca site so I have to go out back n use my neighbors wifi to come on here. So I'll be checking in between getting the tanks ready.
