Thoughts on Desert Crabby Mixes n More?

Post by mariilene » Thu Dec 18, 2014 12:42 pm

Hey all,

Someone in one of the crabby Facebook groups I follow and have a love-hate relationship with (with the groups, not the person!), posted their MASSIVE order from this site I've never seen before:

http://desertsun.tictail.com/products

The prices are AWESOME, they have some stuff I can't get my hands on easily (particularly excited about the $0.25 bee pollen), and everything I've seen and double-checked with the safe-list is totally fine. She even says everything's natural and organic and all that good stuff under the "About" tab. However, the limited to nonexistent descriptions on everything make me a bit nervous, along with knowing nothing about this person other than the Facebook-group approval and her own description of her products.

I'm totally willing to give it a shot (ahhh! so cheap!!), I just wanted to know if any of you had any experience with the site-store or apprehension of your own.

Thank you much! :D

Oh wow! Their powdered selection looks great for tiny crabs! I've never heard of this site either. I'd definitely be interested if it's safe though! Maybe Calla or Wode can shed some light?

My only comment is a lot of the things (not food) she's selling I find at my local dollar store and they're marked to $1.50-2.00. Even the plastic dishes with worm casings and Gogi berries for $4 are held in the little containers I found in a 10 pack at the same store. Let us know what you think if you order.

If you're in the US - I'd check out this ebay seller. His sells some similar stuff even bee pollen. He has organic too...

I ordered from him and other than it taking a week for delivery, I was extremely pleased.

I personally like to be able to check ingredients before I buy (quick look - I don't see lists on the mixes but I may be missing it). I've never heard of them but maybe someone on here has and can chime in. :)

That's my reservation as well. Based on some of the stuff I've seen on the site, I'm wondering if there's some sort of language barrier making descriptions difficult. I also couldn't find where she ships out of. Frustrating! Haha, I may just give a couple of things with listed ingredients a shot. (:

One quick piece of advice however - really search this site as you can often find better prices on larger weights. They seem to do Chinchilla, Hermit Crab, and Homosapien products and often the larger weight is a better bargain.
You can open a second browser and narrow the search once you find something you like and see if you can find a better price.
