It's not Digiorno, it's delivery!

Post by DarthKrab » Wed Feb 17, 2016 1:51 pm

Have any of you bought hermit crab food made specially for them? Like from the hermit crab patch or any other websites? I am just curious as to how much my crabs might like this? I know mine like the stuff I got from the hermit crab patch but then again the only thing I had to compare it with was the crappy pellets I got with my first but at least I know its better. (that stuff hardly got touched)

I just want my new friends to be happy and comfy!

That is almost all that I feed and my crabs really enjoy dinner time! Plus it's made organically and with their needs in mind. All around I highly recommend the stores I've tried, HappyHermit and Deliciously Crabby from Etsy, Canadian Crab connection as well. I want to also try Alaska Hermit next.

Most of my crab food is homemade but some of the specialty items I order from Alaska Hermit Crab and HugsForHermits. Both shops are owned by HCA members, offer terrific products and excellent service. The Dall Sheep poop, Dungeness Crab exoskeleton and Fireweed leaf from Alaska Hermit Crab are huge favs with my crabs; they also love the powdered seaweed and worm castings from HugsForHermits.
PPs are Big Enzo, Charles Paris and Mr Pinch
On the Big Beach in the Sky: Murray, Gino, Oscar, Gordon, Ignatz, Harry and King Felix the Pale
Also Mom to Imogene the Syrian Hamster

I bought a dehydrator and made my own crab food. I did oranges, apples, peppers, kiwi, blueberries, coconut, mango, watermelon etc. However, I dried sardines and it stunk up my house for days, so now I buy all my "fishy" products elsewhere! I also buy fruits and mixes I can not make myself. Hugsforhermits on eBay is great! She has fast shipping as well. I use Hermit Crab Patch for really only their calcium supplements, which my crabs love. my two favorite go-to places are hermieskitchen and deliciouslycrabby (both on etsy). Not that I need it, but I placed orders from both of them again yesterday. Addiction, seriously! I would suggest buying the medium or large baggies though, as the portions are rather small. So if your going to do it, make sure your getting enough for more than one feeding! :)

I may be a bit obsessed with obtaining the best crab food, I have two large totes full of food & supplements. I have been told on more than one occasion, my crabs eat better than I do!
These are what I store them in, helps with the odor of fish, octopus etc. You can buy them at your office supply stores like OfficeMax.

I am going to have to go buy more now that I have all this new food coming! The crab addiction is always ongoing...

I can already tell that my crabs eat better than I do lol and I'm definitely jealous of the warmth inside their tank whenever I reach in.
