HCA: Hermit Crab Association

hello I am new here. But not new to hermit crabs. I have four pp's and three straws. I really want some ecuadorian's or blueberry but I am interested in anything other then pp's or straws. All I can find at stores here are pp's and the straws I finally found online. Does anyone know of any good online stores that ship? Or a store near you that will ship? I wouldn't be doing it right now is I know its too cold. Thanks.

Ecuadorians are a challenge to find in pet stores, but if you check often enough I'd reckon you'd come across one sooner or later. I think this one user found both of theirs at Petco(?) I don't want to be a bummer on the blueberries, but they're extremely difficult to find if you live in the U.S. There's no reputable online sources to find them, and if I recall correctly chances of finding them here are near impossible due to export/import laws. (Near impossible, not impossible, but a very slim chance.)

God luck finding others... I too am looking for eccies but can't find any. I've checked my pet store weekly for past year and they have nothing but PPs. I've read that if you live in texas, you can get them all day long in their pet stores.

Hmm, crazy that just a few states away you can get them. Wonder why Texas...Guess their a different country

There are no online vendors that are endorsed or recommended by HCA.

I personally promote adoption over purchasing when at all possible.

It is also very important to keep in mind that "exotics" have a much shorter life span in captivity than PP's.
